Conversion of Wastes (Dairy Wastes) To Energy (Biogas)

Scope:
Since Pakistan is a developing country and the population is increasing at a very fast rate, so it is overutilizing its energy resources. This will result in the elimination of its resources in near future, therefore
in today's energy demanding lifestyle need for exploring and exploiting new sources of energy which are
renewable. It is estimated that the fossil fuels will be running out by the next few decades, alternatives
have to be found.
The one alternative that we want to worked upon is conversion of wastes (dairy wastes) to energy.
Biogas technology offers a very attractive route to utilize certain categories of biomass for meeting
partial energy needs.
Objectives
The main objectives of the project include the following.
1) To evaluate the waste water treatment efficiency of the anaerobic process, using dairy mills wastes
2) To investigate the biogas production capacity of the dairy wastes
