Clarissa consistently meets expectations for the Raising a Reader program
on time and efficiently. She started off the new school year well ahead of
schedule by preparing and implementing the Raising a Reader kickoff even
before the yearly refresher training. The Partnership for Children is appreciative for the Clarissas work to provide early literacy experiences to the
students in her classroom.
Clarissa has worked in early childhood education for 10 years; currently
she is in her fifth year as a lead teacher of a NC Pre-K classroom for
Wilkes County Schools. She graduated from Western Carolina University
in May 2010 with a bachelors degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education.
Currently she is working toward completing a Masters degree in BirthKindergarten Education from Appalachian State University with plans to
graduate in December 2014.
