Parent/Guardian:
Once you have read the checklist below, please sign and return with your child. This must be given to me no later
than Thursday, August 29, 2015.
1. I have read and discussed the syllabus with my child, especially the portions on grading and integrity.
2. I will communicate with my child about his/her Spanish assignments on a regular basis by way of looking at
parent portal* and/or asking my child. Only after discussing with my child will I contact Mr. Dolesh with
further questions/concerns.
3. I will provide my child with essential school needs: a 3 ring binder/dividers, markers, colored pencils, scissors
and glue.
4. I will allow my childs work to be posted on Mr. Dolesh weebly:
www.Historyofthemodernworld.weebly.com.
5. I will provide a positive environment for the learning of Modern World History at home.

Some specifics from me:
1. When an assignment is posted and no score shows up, this means that I have not yet posted the grades for
the assignment.
2. When an i appears in the assignment, this means I never received the assignment due to absence. Your
child has 5 days to return the assignment to my turn-in bin (unless it is extracurricular- in which case, it is due
to me that day).
3. When a 0 appears in the assignment, this means that your child either:
- did not have the assignment on-time,
- did not complete the assignment,
- was copying the assignment from someone else,
I urge you to communicate with your child first before communicating with me about grades. Almost always,
students know exactly why they receive their grade.
