The tenders will have to be down loaded two copies of blank Tender on payment of Tender
fees (non refundable) as per Tender Notice. However, additional copies of Tender
Specification can also be had on payment as per the Tender Specification.
3.
The tenderers shall have to return the Tender duly filled in two separate envelopes kept in a
printed cover given by the Company without any additions/ alterations & duly signed page
by page.
The Tenderers are forbidden from furnishing their own printed/ typed commercial and other
terms and conditions.
4.
All commercial terms and conditions except rates shall be indicated in the technical &
commercial bid only.
5.
The Tenderers shall specifically note that the Tenders are invited on percentage basis only.
6.
The Tenderers shall specifically note that the quantities mentioned in the Tender are likely
to vary as per the actual requirement. As such, the successful tenderer shall have to
execute the work at the same order rates for the changed quantities, if any, without any
extra compensation whatsoever.
7.
The Tenderers shall have to submit 10 copies of bidding schedule forming a part of prince
bid as called for in the Tender Specifications for distribution at the time of opening to other
participant Tenderer.
8.
The tenderers will ensure submission of the Tenders duly filled in before the due date and
time.
9.
The price bid of those tenderers shall only be opened at the time and date to be informed by
E.E.(Const), Anjar which are found technically acceptable and satisfying the requisite
qualification & parameters.

GENERAL:The above materials shall be issued to the contractor only to meet with the immediate
requirement of the contractor and not much in advance.
2.
The Contractor will submit the material account for the consumption of the material issued
free of charge along with their bills.
3.
The account for the issue of materials shall be settled by contractor before payment of prefinal bill.
4.
Cement and steel will be allowed to use in the contract and for allied connected works with
the prior approval of the Chief Engineer, Head Office.
5.
The steel material will be issued to the Contract by the GETCO on weight basis i.e. weighing
on way-bridge wherever possible if there is no way-bridge the materials shall be issued on
Section weight basis. However measurement for the work done will be done on line
measurement basis by calculating weight as per the sectional measurement as per I.S.S.

If the M.S.Bars pain or tor Steel are return of length 2 Mtr. And above it will not be considered
as scrap.
If the accountable wastage together exceeds 5% then the contract value, the Contractor will
be charged at book rate or market whichever is higher +15% as per rules of the GETCO for
all wastage quantity in excess of 5%.

-8If any steel material, cement including a structural steel is no available in the GETCOS store
and if the work of the Contractor if likely to be delayed then Engineer in charge of the work
permit the Contractor to purchase such materials from the open market in which case actual
procurement cost shall be reimbursed by GETCO. However, in such case the Contractor
shall have to indicate the price at which he can procure the materials based on the price us
indicated the Engineer in change shall obtain prior approval from GETCO H.O. i.e. Chief
Engineer before permitting such purchase.
10. If no finalizing the account of material by the GETCO. It is found that material is issued in
excess of the actual consumption (Plus permissible an accountably) wastage the Contractor
shall return the balance materials to the GETCOs store from which it was originally issued.
In case to the contractor fails to return the balance materials to the GETCOs store from
which it was original issued then for unreturned material. GETCO shall recover cost (a) stock
rate or market rate whichever is higher plus +15%.
11. For the materials to be issued by the GETCO the contractor shall have to furnish indemnity
bond on stamp paper of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only).
12. With permission of Engineer in writing from Engineer-in-Charge.
13. All the materials issued by GETCO shall be transported to the work site on same day and to
be preserved in safe custody, failing to which GETCO shall intimate police action similarly as
per instruction of Engineer in charge you have to credit the material of GETCO store without
any loss time failing to which GETCO shall intimate police action.

GENERAL CONDITION
1.
The erection work should be carried out according to the specification and as per
Instructions & programmed laid out by the D.E. / Executive Engineer-in-charge of the work.
2.

The tender shall remain open for acceptance at least for a period of 180 days from date of
tenders.
4.
The contractor should employee supervisor with sufficient qualification and experience who
could supervise the execution of work throughout. He should always be present on the site
as far as possible. Qualification & experience certificate of deputed supervisor to be
submitted to GETCO.
5.
The Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited does not bind itself to accept the
lowest or any tender. The Executive Engineer (Const.), ANJAR reserves the right to reject
any or all tender without signing any reasons whatsoever.
6.
The erection work should be commenced immediately from the date of receipt of
instructions from office and should be completed within thereafter.
7.
As regard damage the materials, equipment and worker of the contractor, he himself will be
responsible. If there is any compensation to be paid in respect of WORKMAN
compensation act of any other statutory provisions, the same will have to be paid by the
contractor direct. If he thinks fit he may take necessary insurance cover, at his cost.

The contractor shall see the line route before quoting the rates.
10. In case of any dispute / doubt, the decision of Executive Engineer (Const.) Anjar shall be
unchallengeable, final and binding to the Contractor.
11. All legal complication or disputes are subject to Anjar jurisdiction only.

13. THE GETCO shall deduct the Income - Tax & Taxes as per prevailing rules from each and
every bill.
12. Tender offer without payment of E.M.D. required Certificate, Documents, bar chart list of
Tools, Tackles, Equipments etc. required for execution of job will be out rightly rejected
without assigning any reason thereof and decision of the Executive Engineer (Const.), Anjar
will be final and unchallengeable.
- 10 14. The undersign reserve rights to reject any or all the tenders without assigning any reasons
thereof. Issuance of blank tender does not automatically qualifies the tenderers for award.
15. The Contractor has to follow all labours laws, safety rules and regulations. The GETCO
does not take any responsibility in case of accident or injury to the workers. The safety /
security of men, materials & equipments shall be sole responsibility of the contractor.
16. The Compliances of all Central / State Govt., rules, safety and insurance rules etc. and that
of local body, is a must condition for the agency.
17. Tender should be issued to those contractors who have P. F. Registration, Service tax
registration, Vat registration & Work registration.
18. Service tax will be paid as per prevailing norms on production of service tax registration.
19. GENERAL TERMS FOR ERECTION OF SUBSTATION :1. The bidder shall have the experience of erection of 220 KV s/s.
2. The tenderer should quote for complete erection work, testing and commissioning of s/s as
indicated in the Schedule B and as per terms and conditions.
3. It will be bidder sole responsibility for erection of complete s/s in all respect, accordance
with latest rules under Electricity Act and approved by Electrical Inspector.
4. Above terms and conditions are part and partial of tender and will be observed.
SAFETY:20. Contractor shall have to execute the work as per GETCO safety policy. Safety Booklet &
safety policy shall be collected from concern EIC before work commencement.(Refer ISO
document).
21. You shall ensure that at the end of each sub-activity, the surplus material is immediately
removed from the work site to avoid loss and injury to the public.
FIELD QUALITY PLAN:22. Contractor shall have to execute the work as per GETCO FIELD QUALITY PLAN &
APPROVED DRAWING being the mandatory requirement of ISO 9001-2000.

TIME LIMIT:26. Time limit allowed for completion the work is 05 Calendar Months from the date of the
commencement of the work.
27. Time limit extension will be given if line material is not supplied in time and farmer's
objection not cleared in time subject to merits / demerits & approval of competent authority
as per DOP but if material given in time and farmer's objection cleared in time, then no time
limit extension will be grant and penalty will be imposed as per rules. Time limit application
with justification & supporting documents shall be produced.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:23. The successful tenderer will have to pay the Security Deposit of 5% of the order value. On
placing the order 2.5% will have to pay in cash or demand draft in favour of GETCO LTD.
within seven days from the date of receipt of intimation given by the office and the
remaining 2.5% will be recovered from the first two R.A. Bills. And higher percentage of
security deposit may be fixed at the discretion of the Executive Engineer / Superintending
Engineer
24. The tenderer will be abide by and fulfill all the terms & provisions of the Tender and
Contract for works as applicable and in case of any default there to the GETCO shall forfeit
the S.D. or any other action as may be decided by Executive Engineer (Const.) Anjar.
25. Security Deposit will be refunded after / completion of one year or guaranteed period over
whichever is later.
- 11 28. The Time Limit for the work may be reduced and contractor should make all this efforts to
complete the work within stipulated time limit as may be given by the Engineer in charge
depending upon emergency of work GETCO reserves the right to reduce the time limit
without giving any notice.
SIGNING AGREEMENT:29. The Contractor will have to sign an agreement as per GETCOs rules in the prescribed form
of the GETCO. The cost Rs. 50/- of the Stamp Paper will have to be borne by the
Contractor.
PENALTY FOR DELAY:
30. The tenderer should note that the completion time allowed for carrying out the work should
be strictly observed. Any delay that may take place in supply and erection beyond
contractual cutoff date stated as per stipulated delivery period shall be subject to the penalty
at the rate of % of the contract value per week on delayed work (supply and erection
work) with a ceiling of 10% of the total contract value.
31. Any delay causing extension of outages shall be contractors responsibility and appropriate
amount (in term of Rupees) as decided by Executive Engineer (TR.) Anjar shall be
recovered from Contractors bill as a penalty.
GUARANTEE: 32. It is the responsibility of the contractor to handover the complete work free of all defects. If
within a period of one year from the date of handing over the work it is noticed that any
defects occurs due to bad workmanship. It is the duty of the contractor to rectify / replace
the same at his own cost. If within seven days from the date of receipt of such notice, the
contractor does not take up the work, same will be carried out at his risk and cost.
33. WORKING DAYS:
In case, it is not possible for the contractor to continue, the work either due to heavy rains
or other reasonable causes, such facts should be immediate reasons to the notice of the
Executive Engineer in writing. If the reasons for stopping the work are genuine, the
Engineer may ask the contractor in writing to stop work be cases (for such stoppage) are
overcome and the Engineer will ask the Contractor to start the work again in written, the
period of such stoppage will not be considered as a part of working month moreover the
contractor cannot claim compensation for such work.
34. Contractor will not allow to work after working hours except in special case, if any
TERMS OF PAYMENT:
35. Normally, one R.A. Bills will be paid every month, however, looking to the progress of the
work it will be reviewed mutually and 90% of the cost of work done will be paid to the
Contractor on his presentation of R.A. Bill giving the material account thereof. Remaining
10% Payment will be made after the entire work is completed satisfactorily in all respect.
The payment will be made through Account Payee Cheque. The Bill should be submitted to
our Deputy Engineer (Const.) Skhali with a copy to Executive Engineer (Const.), Anjar.
Final bill will be prepared by our Deputy Engineer (Const.) Skhali within about fortnight
from the date of completion of the work by the Contractor.

37. In case of any farmer's objection / ROW, contractor has to mobilize his all efforts to clear the
objection in consultation with GETCO authority. No extra Charge will be paid for such
effort.

36. The GETCO will be untitled to deduct directly from the bills to be paid to the contractor any
sum or sums payable by you and which sum/sums the GETCO is required to pay as
principle employers on account of your default in respect of all liabilities referred to in above
clauses.
- 12 38. The contactor shall co-operative with the GETCO in recording measurement etc. as
expeditiously as possible and he shall fulfill all the requirement which are necessary to
finalizes the accounts on the basic of its records and pay him such amounts as if found due
to him ,together with the amount of security deposit if any remaining payable to him after
deduction there from the amount due by him to the GETCO. The GETCO shall not entertain
further claim from thereafter.
39. PRESENTATION OF BILLS: All the bills for erection, separately for each line should be
presented with the following information on each bill.
(i) 90% bills for erection should be serially numbered giving the work done under each
item up to period of billing, work done for which the claim is made in the bill and up to
date work so for done. Items in erection bill should correspond to items mentioned in
schedule of A/T.
(ii) Balance payment bills should be prepared at the end of the job for each line section
under the jurisdiction of the concerned Deputy Engineer which should give the complete
information of work carried out, total payment due, actual payment received up to date
and the balance amount claimed, It should also accompany a statement of reconciled
material account tower wise and line wise.
40. Liquidation Damages; The date stipulated for completion of work shall be strictly adhered
to except for the provision of the clause no. 1.21. Above if the work is not completed by the
scheduled date of completion, the GETCO recover amount of liquidated damages at the
rate of % per every weeks delay in completion of the line based on the value of the order
amount of the work with a ceiling on such recoveries at 10% of order value.
41. AVAILABILITY OF MATERIALS AND IDLE LABOUR CHARGE: Materials are readily
available and arrangement made to procure the rest. However, the Contractor should be
carrying out the work as and when the materials are received. No idle labour charges will be
bourned by the GETCO in case such occasion of idle labour arises, due to want of any
materials. However, this idle period will be counted for the period of assessing the time limit
for completion of work as mentioned in the work order. Contractor has to collect the material
as and when available and should be keeping in his safe custody.
42. The tender includes all minor accessories and items of work which may not have been
specifically mentioned in the specification schedule etc. but are essential for completion of
work. The contractor will not be eligible for any extra payment in respect of such minor
accessories and items of work.
43. 10% retention money will be deducted from each R.A. bill.
44. No higher rate or revised rate will be applicable for the work, if work is held-up / closed due
to whatever so reasons.
45. R.A. Bill shall be paid if GETCO satisfy with the output of works otherwise only final bill shall
be paid.

47. The contractor shall co-operate with the GETCO in recording measurement etc. as
expeditiously as possible and he shall fulfill all the requirements which are necessary to
finalize the accounts on the basis of its records and pay him such amount as if found due to
him together with the amount of security deposit. If any remaining payable to him after
deduction there from the amount due by him to the GETCO.

46. The cost of damages, if any will be recovered from the Contractors bill. The assessment of
which will be done by field Engineer at his sole discretion and his decision shall be binding
to the contractor and shall be considered as final and unchallengeable.
- 13 48. If it is found that the work is unsatisfactory or not progressing as per the program /
BARCHART / Target period, any action taken by the GETCO, as may be deemed fit, to see
that work is completed as required by the GETCO, would be at the risk and cost of the
contractor. If the work is not completed within time limit penalty of 1/2 % of the contract
value per week will be levied, Maximum 10% of order value unless time quotation as
granted for valid reasons by the competent authority.
PROGRESS OF WORK & REPORTING :
49. Contractor has to submit their working schedule along with tender to complete the work in
view of time limit given in tender Bar chart is also to be submitted.
50. PROGRESS REPORT: Fortnightly progress reports in DUPLICATE shall be regularly
submitted to the GETCO Executive Engineer (Const.) ANJAR and the Engineer-in-charge
with a copy of Superintending Engineer (TR) C.O. ANJAR. Bar chart duly signed by
contractor shall be submitted at the time of commencement of work.
MATERIAL, DELIARY & HANDLING :
51. All material / equipment required for this work as per schedule shall be delivered at any
store center of Const. Dn. ANJAR jurisdiction & contractor has to take delivery from these
stores at his own cost only.
52. The contractor shall be responsible for breakages, losses & thefts of material during transit
or erection. After the materials are issued from stores it is the responsibility of contractor till
the work complete and taken over by the GETCO.
53. The contractor will be responsible for loss, distribution or deterioration of the materials,
stores or articles supplied to him by the GETCO, even if such a less distribution of
deterioration has occurred under any circumstances whatsoever beyond his control as if the
materials, stores or articles so supplied were his property.
54. RETURN OF EMPTY CONDUCTOR DRUMS: The empty wooden drum of earth wire and
conductor as well as insulator crates will not be required to be returned back by the
contractor to the GETCO stores.
55. ACCOUNTING OF GETCO MATERIALS:- The contractor will be fully answerable and
responsible for all the material issued to him for the work by the GETCO for any theft, loss
of pilferage and shall have to furnish account for the same after completion of the work and
before preparation of final bill, If the loss referred to above is not made good before final bill
as per rules of the GETCO. Contractor has to maintain Site Register Material Account
Register regularly.
56. The structure & equipment required for sub-station erection work shall be delivered at S/S
store by GETCO at free of cost and it must be shifted to site without damaging the
equipment must be kept in position as per instruction of In charge Engineer and
Manufacturers manual. The M.S. Girder required for line erection work will be provided at
one end of the line by GETCO. The trip of Girder should be of minimum 20 Girders.

58. The equipments must be cleaned, washed if required before erection. The initial testing
wherever required should be carried out first with the help of Engineer-in-charge before
erection, such as measuring continuity test or any other test found necessary.

57. The Contract has to shift the material at site with packing case and it should open carefully
without damaging the equipment. The packing case must be returned to the store in good
condition and stacked as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
- 14 59. THE GUJARAT ENERGY TRANSMISSION CORPORATION LTD. shall supply Steel
Section required, for earth mesh / structure / G.I. / M.S. strip for earthings the equipments
structures with nut and bolts, power cable, control cable, L.T. cable, Clamps connectors and
C.I. Plate for small pit etc. at free of cost subject to condition mentioned in schedule-B.
60. Wooden charcoal, salt, black cotton soil, G.I. pipe counter type earthing G.I. strip, G.I. wire,
nut & bolts lugs etc. required for earthing shall be procured by the contractor as per
specification given is Schedule B .
61. In case of non - availability of some items / materials you will have to collect the same from
other nearly store center for which you shall be paid as per GETCOs rules and S.O.R. rate.
62. After completion of the work, all the surplus materials issued by the GETCO shall be
returned by you to the respective center of the GETCO as per instruction of Engineer in
charge at your cost.
63. For shortages of any materials issued by the GETCO for the work, recovery shall be made
from you, on the basis or prices of the materials (prevailing the date of settlement of
materials Account) plus 15% supervision charges.
64. All the materials issued by GETCO shall be transported to the work site on same day and to
be preserved in safe custody failing to which GETCO shall initiate Police actions, similarly
as per instruction of Engineer-in-charge, you have to credit the material at GETCO store
without any loss of time failing to which GETCO shall initiate Police action.
65. Accounts of Materials issued :- The contractor shall have to maintain accurate day to
day and item wise account of use of issued materials which shall be got checked from time
to time by the representative of the GETCO. The contractor will be responsible for custody
and preserving the issued materials till the work is handover by the Contractor after
completion.
66. The contractor has to maintain site Register, covering all the daily details of Material receipt
& utilization, progress of work etc. This register shall be checked and signed by Engineer in
charge & Executive Engineer during the site visit. Any bill without site register shall not be
passed. The GETCO shall not entertain further claim from thereafter.
TOOLS :67. No tools, tackles, manpower, crane facilities etc. will be provided by the GETCO.
No special tools and tackles such as compression joint machine, jointing dies, come along
clamps, dynamo meter etc. shall be given by GETCO.
68. Erection tools required during construction of lines shall be arranged by the contractor at his
own cost. Adjustable stub templates will however be supplied by the GETCO which shall be
returned by the contractor in Good condition on completion of the works.
69. Contractor will have to make his own arrangement for all tools, tackles, wire ropes etc. for
the work.

71. ELECTRICITY RULES : All works shall be carried out in accordance with the revised and
latest providing under Indian Electricity Act and Rules made the rounder.

70. The contractor has to submit the list of tools, tackles, equipments with him along with his
tender offer. The tender without this list and other required documents (as mentioned above
herein the tender) should be rejected out rightly.
- 15 72. WASTAGE :
You shall make every effort to minimize the breakage/Looses and wastage of
materials, etc. supplied Free of cost by the GETCO for erection of line.

75. QUANTITY OF WORK : The quantities of various items of erection indicated in Schedule-A
are tentative, final quantities shall be determined after completion of the details route
surveys. The contractor has to carry out the work according to quantities as determined at
site for which the rates quoted in the Tender shall be valid.

- 16 materials and the corporation shall be kept informed about it. Contractor shall replace
the lost/damaged materials/items promptly irrespective of the settlement of the claims
by underwriter and ensure that the work progress is as per agreed schedule. The loss, if
any, such replacement will have to be borne by the contractor and Board will not
entertain any claim/representation in this regard. However it will be contractors
responsibility to insure the entire project till the line is taken over by the Board.
For Sub-station erection work, the contractor has to arrange for insurance of the fragile
equipments for shifting and erection purpose on behalf of the GETCO at the cost of the
contractor.
77. DEPARTURE FROM SPECIFICATION AND DRAWINGS:Should the tenderer wish to depart from the specification in any respect, they should draw
attention to such departure giving his reasons thereof and should get approved the same
before doing any further work, unless this is done this specification shall held good. The
working drawings are attached with the tenders. However in case of any clarification the
decision of Engineer in charge will be final & binding to the Contractor.

83. The detailed drawings of equipments can be seen from this office during any working day
and the equipments which are to be erected can also be seen physically at Anjar store
during any working day and time.

82. The Contractors has to engage required strength of skilled persons for Transportation,
Loading & unloading work and proper Supervisor to avoid complication & unnecessary
delay to complete work timely. The Contractor will be totally responsible for labour claims
arising out of the labour employed for this job.
- 17 84. The erection work should be carried out according to the specification as per instructions
and programmed laid out by the Engineer in charge. Contractor has to ensure safe shifting
and erection of all accessories / equipments as per standard norms.
85. The Contractor has to arrange for minor fabrication (if required) at free cost & follow all
labour laws I.E. Rules safety rules, Insurance rules, GETCO rules at his risk & cost.
86. The tenderer should furnish details of past experience of such job of similar nature
completed by him satisfactorily within the time limit in GETCO without this certificate offer
shall be rejected out rightly.
87. The contractor has to co-ordinate & co-operate fully with Engineer-in-Charge and
commissioning Engineer of the supplier for erection of all equipments / structure /
accessories, etc., and any other items which are not conveniently included in the
specification but requires for completing the job.
88. The quantum of work as mentioned in Estimate / Schedule B is tentative and it can very
differ as per site condition. The payment shall be made only on actual work executed or
order quantity whichever is less.
89. The Contractor has to remain in contact in close days with Engineer in charge of work who
in turn shall issue detailed instruction for the commencement of the work.
90. A fresh & valid solvency Certificate of the extent of 20% of the ordered value will have to be
produced by the contractor and party has to surrender original solvency Certificate to
GETCO before commencing of work.
91. Contractor will abide by and fulfill all the terms and conditions and general terms and
condition of the contract for works available in the office.
92. The Contractor will be solely and responsible for any accident / damage either to
equipments or any human being during the time of execution of work.
93. All other general terms and conditions as prevailing in the GETCO shall be applicable to this
contract.
94. Either you or your authorized person should contact our concern S.D.O. as well Division
office, Anjar daily, for the availability of equipments required for this work, failing to which
this work order shall be terminated without giving any notice.
95. Prior intimation in writing for starting the job will be given by GETCO for the work.
96. The Contractor will have to give indemnity bond to GETCO against any possible claim of
compensation for damage to contractors equipments or staff or any of third party during the
execution of work.

98. The contractor has the experience of survey work and produces the list of survey instrument
and bio-data of Supervisor / Surveyor / Engineer / Technician to be engaged for the job.
99. The tender shall be issued to only the experience and Contractor who has completed such
job of similar nature and magnitude satisfactorily in time. However, issuance of blank
tender, will does not qualifies the tenderer to offer the bid.

97. The Contractor will have to complete entire job as per directive and instruction of Engineer
in charge. If he fails to do so entire work will be carried out at Contractors risk and cost.
- 18 100. The contractor will be governed by the GETCOs general conditions of works contract. The
Booklet will be available in the concerned office in any working days. In the event of placing
order, the contractor will have to sign this booklet along with other documents and
agreement. All the usual terms and conditions of the GETCO, though the same might have
not been mentioned in this specification or contractor booklet will applicable to this contract,
and the decision of the Executive Engineer / Superintending Engineer shall be binding on
the contractor.
101. Specification in any items mentioned in tender are subject to change without any prior
notice and binding to the Contractor.
102. If the work is required to be carried out during specified outage then the contractor has to
deploy adequate man power, material, tools etc. well advance and has to complete the
entire work during this specific outage period only, failing to which GETCO shall be at
liberally to deduct the amount of revenue loss due to prolong outage. Contractor has to coordinate E.I.C. of planning of outage & work schedule thereof, so as to complete all the
planned work in outage.
103. If required by GETCO you shall have to provide free to & for traveling facility to our field
Engineer or Surveyor for the work.
104. The tender include all minor accessories and items of work which may not have been
specifically mentioned in the specification / Schedule etc. but are essential for completion of
work. The Contractor will not be eligible for any extra payment in respect of such minor
accessories and item of work.
105. The Contractor shall not refuse to execute the work order at any time and it will be his sole
responsibility to execute and complete this work as per the instruction of
Engineer - in charge.
106. The Contractor has to carry out all the works in accordance with revised and latest provision
under I.E. Rules Act made there under and as per instruction of Engineer-in-charge.
107. The tender shall be issued only to capable contractor and must have of experience of substation erection work of 400 / 220 KV equipment and structure erection work during last 3
years in GETCO.
108. Registered class A Contractors with the GETCO and having furnished Rs. 5 Lacs Bank
Guarantee towards lump sum permanent deposit are exempted from to renew / extend the
validity of registration and Bank Guarantee well in time before expiry dates.
109. The S.S.I. Industries will be exempted from the payment of Security Deposit provided a
competency certificates is issued by the Regional Division Officer of the National Small
Scale Industries Corporation to the effect that the firm is capable of executing the order.
110. The tender shall invariably furnish a monthly average erection capacity (in rating) along with
list of available machinery, tools and tackles etc. for erection of line.
111. The tenderer shall submit offer for erection or foundation work.

113. Any excess work done beyond specification and drawing shall be at Contractors risk and
cost.

- 19 114. The Contractor has to deploy minimum 8 to 10 skill labours / fitters at site daily failing to
which GETCO shall have a right to deduct Rs. 1,000/- per day from the bill.
115. During the stringing work of line if any EHT / 11KV / L.T. line comes on the way the
Contractor has to dismantle, restringing, kept on original position etc. work to be carried out.
No any charges will be paid extra for this work. further work to be carried out in coordination with concern DISCOM personnel for proper identification of feeder / LT line as
well as you have to strictly observed all the safety rules of GETCO.
116. The bidder shall specifically note that GETCO will not pay any extra amount to wards any
type of claim except for the description indicated in Schedule B. The party has to carry out
all other / additional required activities / work as directed by Engineer in charge which is not
mentioned in Schedule but required to be completed as per the site condition and for this
work no extra Payment shall be made by GETCO,
117. It will be bidders sole responsibility for erection of complete equipment & structures in all
respect as per the provision of I.E. rules and procedures and as per the instruction of
Engineer in charge.
118. In addition to the general of the construction particular attention shall be paid to the final
finish and every effort shall be made to have the entire work contented wish standard of
workmanship by the Contractor.
119. No any idling / gang mobilization charge will be paid by GETCO in any circumstances.
120. No part rate or reduces rate shall be allowed in final bill.
121. Contractor has to co-ordinate E.I.C. of planning of outage & work schedule thereof, so as to
complete all the planned work in outage. Contractor has to deploy adequate manpower
accordingly.
122. The interpretation of specification doubts etc: - In case of any doubts about what is
mentioned in specification or schedule or elsewhere, the tenderer should get all doubts
cleared from the Department in writing and in advance of filling in the tender. In case of
difference of opinion about interpretation of specification etc. the decision of Executive
Engineer will be final and shall be binding to the contractor to the tenderer.
123. The competent authority can delete any item in schedule of the tender, if he feels that the
rate quoted by the contractor for that item is abnormally high when compared to the
estimated rates.
124. The Contractor shall not refuse to execute this work order at any time and it will be his sole
responsibility to execute and complete this work as per the instruction of Engineer in
charge.

125. Power supply should be arranged by contractor at his own cost. For that temporary

Labour Laws :-
(A) Person below the age of 18 years shall not be employed for the work.
(B) No. female worker shall be employed in the night shift between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
(C) Contractor shall maintain a valid labor license under the contract labour (Regulation and
Abolition) Act for employing necessary manpower to be required by him. In the absence
of such license the contract shall be liable to be terminated without assigning any reason
thereof.
(D) The contractor shall at his own expenses comply with all labour laws and keep the
GETCO indemnified in respective thereof. Some of the major liabilities under various
labour and industrial laws which the contractor shall comply with as under :(i) Payment of contribution by way of employers contribution towards provident fund,
family pension scheme, Deposit linked insurance scheme, Administrative charge etc.
at the rates make applicable from time to time by Government of
Gujarat/Government of India or other statutory authority.
(ii) Payment of deposit in respect of each contract labour at the rate of Rs. 30/- with the
office of Commissioner of Labour as per the Contract Labour (Regulation and
Abolition Act).
(iii) License Fees as prescribed under the Contract (Regulation and Abolition) Act and
rules framed there under depending upon the number of work men employed by the
Contractor.
(iv) Paid Leave facility and wages as per the provision of the Factory Act at the rate of
one day for every 20 days of working.
(v) Identity Cards as prescribed under the Factories Act with Photo affixed thereto, the
same for identification.
(vi) Payment of retrenchment compensation, Notice pay and other liabilities as per
Industrial Disputes Act. any payment to the Contractors employees arising out of any
claim or disputes under the Industrial Disputes Act. 1947 or any other labour laws.
(vii) Payment of Compensation in case of accidental injury.
(viii) Provision of crche if the female labours employed are more than 30 numbers.

The contractor shall pay minimum prevailing rates per day or as may be specified
hereafter or rates fixed under the minimum wages Act. Whichever is higher. The wages
or very contract labour employed by him under this contact shall be paid by him before
the expiry of 7th day of the month in respective of which the wages are payable ( i.e.
wages of a month have to be paid by him in the first week of the next month). The
payment shall be disbursed in the presence of management representative during the
working hours in factory premises and the contractor shall get the entries certified in the
register of wages by the representative of the GETCO. Any default will result in
cancellation of contract forthwith or also the contractor shall be paid punishable to the
extent of Rs.100/- fine per each day.
The contractor shall give his telephone number and address to the GETCO so that in
case of labour troubles etc. the contractor can be contacted. The contractor shall arrange
to have his office outside the factory premises and the contractor shall keep himself
present throughout the working hours.

Provident fund & Family pension Scheme:The contractor shall submit along with his bill (month wise) a statement regarding deduction
against employees provident fund and family pension scheme in respective of each
concerned employee, provident fund and family pension scheme at the rate at admissible (
or at the rate made applicable by the Government from time to time) of the wages. The
contractors contribution and his workers contribution towards provident fund and family
pension scheme shall be deposited by the contractor with regional Provident Fund
Commissioner, Ahmadabad.

Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme:The contractor shall have to deposit % of the wage in respect of employees who is a
member of the Provident Fund as the contribution to the deposit linked insurance Scheme
with Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Ahmadabad.
(5)
Administrative Charges:Administrative charges for maintaining provident fund A/C shall be deposited by the
contractor with Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Ahmadabad at the rates
applicable.
(6)
Paid Leave Facility:Paid leave facility at the rate of one day for every twenty days worked by the contract
labour shall be provided by the contractor to his workers. He shall maintain leave
Records/leave cards for individual labourer which shall be duly verified and
approved/certified by the authorized officer of the GETCO.
(7)
Workmens compensation fund & Employers Liability Insurance:The contractor shall cover all his employees under workmens compensation fund and
under the liability insurance.
The contractor shall employ adequate number of experienced staff at site for dial
supervision and for maintenance of various register and records required under the law and
contract No. payment for supervision shall be admissible.
(8)
Contractor to Idemnify the GETCO:The contractor shall indemnify the GETCO and every member officer and employees of the
GETCO also, engineering in charge and his staff against all actions, proceeding, claims
demands, costs and expenses which may be made against the GETCO or Government for
or in respective of former of his obligation under the contract documents. The GETCO shall
not liable for or in respective of or in consequence of any accident or injury to any workman
or other person in the employment of the contractor or his sub-contractor and the contractor
shall indemnify and keep indemnified the GETCO against all such damage and
compensation and against all claims, demands, proceedings costs, charges and expenses
whatever in respective thereof in relation thereto.
(9)
Workmens compensation and employers liability insurance:Insurance shall be affected for the entire contractors employee engaged in the
performance of this contract. If any of the work is subject the contractor shall require the
sub-contractor to provide workmens compensation and employers liability insurance for the
latters employees unless such employees are covered under the contractors insurance.

- 21 (ix) Maternity Leave as per the Maternity Benefit Act. The above are some of the major
liabilities of the Contractor in addition of other liabilities prescribed under the various
labour laws in force from time to time from statutory Authorities like State
Government / Government of India which the Contractor shall have to comply with.
- 22 (10) The GETCO reserves the right to terminate this rate contract at any time during its tendency
without giving notice of termination or any reasons thereof.
(11) The GETCO will be entitled to deduct directly from the bills, to be paid to the contractor any
sum or payable by you and which sum/sums the GETCO is required to pay as principal
employer on account of your default in respect of all liabilities referred to in above clauses.
(12) GETCO does not accept any responsibility as factory Act, Minimum wages Act, Workmens
Compensation Act, Insurance Rules etc. or any other act, rules or regulations that have to
be observed by the contractor for carrying out the work. Subject to the availability of raw
materials, the contract is to be completed within stipulated time period from the
commencement date as mentioned in the work order.

The rate in Schedule B is inclusive of Cement Cost. Contractor has to purchase fresh
43 grade cement confirming to as per IS-8112 and of approved brand by GETCO.

Contractor has to construct Pucca Godown at site of the work so that Cement bags
can be properly preserved to avoid damage due to any kind of Water.
3.
The contractor shall have to procure cement by purchasing from the open market
according to line requirement and keep sufficient quantities to avoid delay in work.
Same quantity of cement is to be utilized from his own stock. Account of cement
utilized at each location duly certified by concerned GETCOs supervisor and engineer
in charge of work. The account is required to be maintain and submitted with each RA
bill. No payment shall be made toward cost of cement bags utilized in each running
bills without submission of cement consumption details. No wastage is permitted as
same is to be procured by the contractor at his own cost from the authorized dealer
approved by the GETCO. No wastages towards cement is permitted.

To bring sufficient and timely cement at site is full responsibility of contractor. Nothing
extra will be paid on account of any reason to maintain progress of work and to
complete the work in Schedule time.

Contractor has to submit material A/c for consumption of cement used with every bill.
In case of not submitting the same, bill will not be passed. Contractor has to submit
the copy of cement purchase Bill along with each RA Bill/ Final Bill.

No negative variation will be allowed for consumption in cement then prescribed as per
Booklet of Technical Specification of GETCO/Mix Design and nothing will be paid extra
for over consumption.

15. No wastage is permitted for reinforcement steel and as reinforcement steel is to be
procured by the contractor at his own cost. NO over lapping of RCC is permitted in
foundation work.
16. GETCO reserves right to test the quality of steel and cement procured by the
contractor at any Govt. Recognized Laboratory and intended to be used for the tower
foundation works. The test results shall be binding to the contractor closer /shortage
of approved brand, cement of other brand in accordance of condition No.(01) will be
allowed by Engineer-in-Charge.
17. Contractor will be allowed to carry out work only after physical verification of cement
brought at site.

The works shall be carried out strictly as per the erection manuals and shall fully
comply with the relevant Indian Standard. The IE rules and Acts in force time to time
shall also be applicable during tendency of the contract.
The Purchaser will make all the technical data drawing and catalogues for equipment
to be erected available to the contractor. Purchaser shall also make available to the
contractor the layout of switchyard and also drawing of the control room and also
related works equipment drawings.
The erection contractor shall however not remain contended with the drawings,
manual and catalogue as well as lay out drawing given by the Purchaser but shall
also exercise his own judgment and shall prepare the working drawing required for
erection or shall assist the purchaser in making them. Further while erecting the
equipment or carrying out other activities related to the contractual work, the
contractor shall adhere to the latest engineering practices for erection and
construction and shall also keep Engineer in charge posted about the ways and
means adopted by him for construction activities.

The Contractor shall provide all tools/tackles jigs and fixtures winches, alignment
tools, welding sets, testing kits, testing meters/instruments, breaker handling devices
all consumable items and construction equipment as required to install the
equipments and to complete the work in all respects and shall necessarily include
(but not limited to) bolts, nuts, rivets, welding rods, shims, wedges, packing sheets,
packing compounds, oil installation and protection of individual equipment in storage
and during erection, testing and commissioning.
This shall also cover proper alignment, tack welding tagging laying marking of and
connection of cables, fabrication supply and installation of all support structures for
installation of various electrical equipment and cables.
Provision of cable glands, ferrules, and cable lugs tags sealing kit (for HT cables)
shall also be arranged by the contractor.
Erection testing & commissioning of various equipment shall be done strictly as per
manufacturers instructions.
Successful bidder shall submit proposed test procedure to the purchaser for
approval well in advance and shall not commence testing until approval is conveyed.
All additional iron framework erected to put the equipment in operational condition
shall be provided with two coats of primer and two top cots of finish paint.
Special care shall be taken to make the enclosed equipment protected against entry
of rates, lizard, and creeping reptiles, which may create electrical short circuits.

The foundation work of switchyard structure is not in the scope of this tender. The
foundation with concreted anchor bolts shall be made available by purchaser well in
time to enable the contractor of this work to get a clear working front.
The switchyard structure shall be made available to the contractor in the knocked
down condition either at site or from any other store of GETCO in radius of 100 kms.
Small parts like cleat, plate fasteners step bolts and other accessories (if any) shall
also be supplied as above separately.
Before Commencement of the erection work, the contractor shall check cast
foundations and anchor bolts for their individual ad mutual distances and also for the
correctness of concreted bolts in terms of number and verticality. In case of any
disagreement with the lay out drawing, the matter may be referred to Engineer in
charge for remedial measures who in turn will arrange such remedial measures.
However, the contractor shall also render necessary assistance in the matter.
The erection of structure shall be done strictly as per the approval set of structure
drawings to be given by the Purchaser. The erected column for bringing the structure
in alignment or bringing the structure in plumb shall be allowed.
The Cross-connected beams should be perfectly at right angle and matching with
respective faces of the column. No. column or beams shall be erected with missing
members.

The method of erection is not being dealt with in details here. However, while making
the rigging arrangement, it should be ensured that no column beam or part thereof is
damaged due to misjudgment. All the members, plates, cleats, bolts, buts and other
accessories should be fitted to the column, beam support structure as per the
approved drawing.
After the erection of beam and column, the bolt, nuts should be properly tightened
and centre punched. The thread protruding bout should be dented in the contact
surface of nut at 3 point 120 degrees apart to eliminate loosening of bolt due to
vibration. The stringing of bus bas conductor be done only after getting certificate
from engineer. In charge that all bolts & nuts are provided as per approved drawing
and tightened.
The equipment support structure should also be erected like gently column. They
should well be in plumb with all members fitted as per approved drawings and bolt
nuts properly tightened. The contractor shall also take care to see that the alignment
of foundation of equipment support structure is well done. The equipment support
structures shall be erected as per the approved drawings.
All the structure to be erected in line level and in plumb as per instruction of
Engineer-in-charge.
If any structures falls after erection but before grouting then it is responsibilities of
Contractor to bet replace damaged members at his cost.
After taking delivery of the structures from GETCO stores than contractor is fully
responsible for safe custody and theft which will be at Contractors cost till
completion.
During erection due care is to be taken for any damage to any equipment inside the
S/S yard and any damage to the equipment is at Contractors Cost.
Required tools, tackles, ropes, spanners and skilled labours etc. are to be arrange
by the Contractor at his cost.
All bolt and nuts to be fixed properly and spring washer, flat, washer to be used as
per drawing.
If any minor fabrication / modification is required during erection to the structure i.e.
holes, cutting, which is to be carried out by the Contractor at free of cost.
Any loose materials which obstacles during the erection is to be shifted by the
contractor for which no extra charges is to be paid.

purchaser and transported to the site at the cost of contractor. The contractor shall also do
loading and unloading of the equipment.
20. After the arrival of equipment at site, packing shall be gently removed without causing any
damage to the equipment. The equipment shall be checked for its correctness of dimension,
make etc. as per the approved drawing. The equipment then shall be cleaned by a piece of
cloth and made ready for erection.
21. The equipment shall be mounted on the ready pedestal (of masonry) or steel structure as the
case may be and checked the same for its verticality. Construction of masonry pedestal is not
in the scope of this work.
22. All the clamp connector and fitting shall be provided as per the approved drawing of
equipment by the purchaser except T connector to be provided on buses.
23. In case of CT, PT by CVT, the junction box or terminal box of the equipment shall be opened,
cleaned and all their connections should be checked.
24. The arcing horns or corona control rings shall be provided as per the approved drawing.
Similarly all fittings etc. shall also be provided as per the approved drawings.
25. The electrical connection of the equipments through jumpers or through 4 aluminum pipe
shall be carried out kiosk or to the control relay panels. The connection of high voltage
terminal of equipment shall not be resorted to, unless secondary connection or cabling work to
control equipment is over. Testing of equipment shall also be done to ensure the correct wiring
sequence of the equipment and continuity before energizing equipment by EHV.
26. Polarity of the equipment to be connected on HV side should be checked prior to erection. The
oil level (if any) of the equipment should be checked for its totality. If level is found to be
inadequate, topping filling of oil should be resorted to. The purchaser free of cost will supply
the quantity of oil required.
27. Fuse, links, etc provided in the secondary box of the equipment shall be checked for their

Purchaser intent to procure SF6 circuit breaker for the voltage class of 400/200 KV switchyards. The
purchaser shall procure switchyard SF6 circuit breaker.
The circuit breaker shall be taken delivery from the site/other stores of purchaser and transported to
the work place will in time on loading/unloading. The crates containing the insulators and important
parts and accessories shall be opened carefully keeping them in their proper position. Insulator
parts and other accessories shall be thoroughly cleaned for any deposits of dust or other particles.
The breaker shall be brought on the pedestal of masonry or steel frame as the case may be in
upright position without any inclination. The main parts of the equipments shall be assembled as per
approved drawing to be submitted by purchaser. The purchaser shall requisition service of
commissioning engineer of circuit breaker manufacturer. However, the contractor will not remain
contended with the instruction and guidelines given by the commissioning engineer and shall also
use his judgment in better erection of commissioning practice of circuit breaker.
After the placement of circuit breaker in position the kiosk of the breaker shall be thoroughly
inspected and any lacuna found shall be reported to the engineer in charge of the work. The HT
terminal connection shall be done only after the terminals of the equipment kiosk are made to the
marshaling kiosk and or the control/relay panels. Polarity of the equipments shall also be ensured
before physical erection.
The method of erection of breaker is not dealt with in details; however, it is recommended that
breaker poles shall be erected only by using telescopic crane or other suitable mechanical
arrangement. The rigging should be tool proof.
The operating mechanism in the breaker Kiosk and contacts as well as the power supply circuits
(AC/DC) shall be property checked for its operation worthiness. All piping for gas/air shall be laid as
per the approved drawing. The air receiver or compressor shall be positioned as per the relevant
drawing. Minor fittings and fabrication or grouting work required to place these articles or
accessories shall be done by the contractor without any extra cost to the purchaser. In case of
breakers with spring mechanism the trials of the mechanism by actuating should be done to ensure
its line worthiness.
EHV side of the breaker should be aligned to a incoming and outgoing bus conductor of 4 IPS
aluminum tubular pipes. Whiles erecting the breaker, the operating mechanism without the porcelain
insulator should be laid perfectly to avoid any mal functioning of the breaker.
Earthing points of the breaker as well as attached kiosk be connected to earth grid by means of
risers already available nearby the equipment. The purchaser free of cost shall make pieces of
galvanized earthing strips available. Any other erection checks and pre-cautions indicated in the
manual furnished by the respective supplier of the equipment shall be studied well by the contractor
and the provisions there of shall be implemented as far as possible.

Isolators of dis-connectors for the 200 KV and 66 KV switchyard shall be with or without
earth blade type. They are also further categorized as pantograph type of centre breakers
type etc. The isolators shall be procured by the contractor from the site stores of the
purchaser and transported to the work site. All the spare parts shall be properly unpacked
cleaned and made ready for erection.
Before erection, the contractor shall obtained copies of approved drawing of respective
equipments. The isolators shall be erected on the ready galvanized structures. The
purchaser along with support structure shall supply pantograph isolators. However,
foundation for them will be available readily at the respective points in the switchyard.
The contractor shall check the erected support structure for their alignment vertically and
tightness of fasteners before mounting the isolators part on them. The contractor shall also
verify the mounting arrangement for the operating mechanism on this structure and suitable
for the same. In case of any shortcoming the matter may be reported to engineer in charge.
Any modification of trivial nature for the structure of fixtures shall be carried out free of cost.
The parts of the isolators, fixed and moving contacts earthing rode etc. shall be handled
very carefully to avoid breakage or distortions. The erection shall be carried out using
mechanized erection tools. The polarity of the isolator polls shall be properly identified and
also the direction of the opening should be pre-determined. It should be ensured that in the
entire switchyard the isolator open and close uniformly (direction point).
The operating mechanism for the line contacts shall be thoroughly checked for their
accessories as per approved drawing and it should be ensured that all the connection fuses
links dehumidifiers lighting sockets electric motors are in their proper position. Any deviation
from the approved should be got sat right with the help of engineer in charge. Position any
deviation from the approved drawing should be got set right with the help of Engineer inCharge.
While erecting the isolator, it should be ensured that it should be properly aligned with
respect to bus conductors or line conductors or 4 IPS tubular aluminum bus bard provided
in the switchyard. The erected isolator shall be within the plumb. The operating mechanism
rods, pole and rotation insulators shall be checked for their proper function. The testing of
the wiring to the kiosk should also be done to ensure its operation worthiness. The final
commissioning of the isolator should be done only after connection to control panel is
affected. However prior to that it should be ensured that the physical movement of the fixed
and moving contacts and reach of them is within the prescribed limit.
The pantograph isolator shall be erected along with the tubular structure on the ready
foundation. It is very much essential to align pantograph isolator longitudinally and laterally
which is also in tandem. The vertical movement of the pantograph arms should be properly

- 34 checked and aligned with the horizontal contact bar hanging from the line / bus conductors
so that the moving contacts of the pantograph isolator grips the horizontal contacting bar. In
center of the moving contact. The master and follower operating mechanism should be

exactly as per the circuit diagram approved by the purchaser.

The contractor shall procure the control and relay. Panel from site store or any other stores
of the purchaser and transport the same to the erection site. The cases containing the panel
shall be unpacked carefully and shall be nicely cleaned. Any of external damage is
observed, same shall be brought to the notice of Engineer in-charge. The panel shall be
unpacked in upside position. After an external visual inspection, the panel door shall be
opened and checked for the circuit connection, terminal connector, dehumidifier, power
connection etc.
A front side of the panel shall be checked for the meter indicator, hooter, semaphore
indicators etc. for their position, rating and dimension by comparing them with the approved
drawing. The overall dimension of the panel should also be verified.
Any lacuna in the equipments, circuits, fittings, dimensions etc. observed shall be brought to
the notice of Engineer in charge who will try to impose remedial measures.
The relay panel should also be checked for type of schemes adopted for protection, internal
connection, fascia indicator etc. Any difference observed should be brought to the notice of
Engineer in charge who will take necessary action.
After all the inspection of control panel and relay panel is over, the equipment will be
transported from inspection room to their respective place in the switchyard. The panel shall
be erected along cut outs provided in the slab concrete; it is decided by Engineer in charge
or which is approved by authorized drawing.
The size and number of cores of cables be brought from the equipment to control panel,
control panel to relay panel and back to equipment shall be pre- determined by study.
The panel for communication and tale control protection system shall be erected at the
separate space provided for them in the control room and shall be distinctly away from site
control panels. Connections and circuit of PLCC panels shall be altogether different from
that of control and relay panel for feeder. The contractor shall synchronize the activities of
panel erection in such a way that cabling work from the control room to field kiosk and
thereafter to the equipment kiosk shall be suitably checked as per the approved drawing as
well as actually field testing requirement.
After the erection of control panel and relay, panel, all the equipments, accessories
indicators etc. along with the internal wiring and other accessories provided with the kiosk of
the panels.

Earthing pits are to be excavated as per standard drawing and as per instruction of
Engineer-in-charge of s/s.

Generally in rocky / soft rock strata mesh type earthing are to be provided from
scrap / flat which will be given to the contractor at free of cost for which account to
be submitted and necessary fabrication welding, joining with pipe is to be done by
the contractor.

Back filling and watering of earthing pits is to be done in the presence of GETCO
Supervisor only.

Contractor has to arrange watering in such way that resistivity of each pit should
comes to the required limit.

Laying and termination of control cable work shall generally includes following.
The Contractor shall first of all prepare cable schedule after studying the various control
schemes, protection schemes and metering scheme as well as communication, scheme
etc. as per the approved drawing which the purchaser makes available. The cable
schedule shall be got approved from engineer in charge of the work.

The contractor shall procure the required size of control and power cable from the
purchasers site store to any other stores from where the same allotted and transport it to
its site store.
4.
The control cables shall be terminated using correct type of lugs and further prodded with
ferules giving the identification number of various cores of the cable. Correct type of tools
for termination shall be used to secure a rigid connection of the cable tray along with the
cable trenches. Normally mild steel, racks and cable trays are provided in the cable trench.
However, the purchaser may it its own discretion prefer to utilize fiber reinforced poly
propylene (FRP) cable racks and trays. In such an event, the racks trays will be supplied
by the purchaser to the contractor in a knocked down condition. The contractor shall
assemble the rack and provide trays on them as per the approved drawing given by the
purchaser. If FRP trays and racks are to be utilized, the contractor will have to take extra
care while laying the cable through different layer and racks to avoid any displacement or
distortion of the FRP racks. However, if the laying of prefabricated FRP racks and trays fall
in the scope or FRP rack / tray supplier. the contractor shills co-ordinate and synchronize
his cable laying activities with respective supplier of FRP rack / trays.

- 40 Utmost care shall be taken by the contractor to prevent damage to outer insulation and the
armors of the cables. No joint to the cable shall be permitted. Unless situation so warrants
and Engineer in charge permits the same.
All the power and control cable shall be properly identified, giving the serial number and
details of end connections after laying.
Before laying cables these shall be tested for physical continuity absence of cross phasing
insulation resistance to earth and between conductor insulation resistance tests shall be carried out
with 500/1000 volts meager.

The cable shall be supplied for site wound on wooden drum as per as possible. For smaller length
and sizes cable in property coiled form can be accepted. The cables will be laid by mounting the
drum of the cable on drum carriage. Where the carriage axle and the cable laid out from the drum in
on case the cable will be rolled on as it produces kinks which may damage the conductor.

Sharp bending and kinking of cables shall be avoided. The binding radius for PVC insulated and
sheath armored cable shall not be less than 10 D where D is overall dia of the cable. Armored
cables never concealed in roads without G. I. pipes or R. C. C. pipes ( required pipes will be
supplied by the contractor ) After drawing cable the end of pipe shall be sealed with
cotton/bituminous compound.

On both ends of cables, suitable size braes heavy duty cable glands shall be used before it enters
junction box/main L.T Panel/joint box etc. Armor of cable shall be connected to earth point.

Cables shall be so laid in ground in such a way that these will not interferes with other
underground structures. All water pipes sewage lines or other structures, which become
exposed by excavation shall be properly supported and protected from injury until the filling has
been rammed solidly in places under and round them. Any telephone of other cables coming in
the way is to be properly shield/diverted as directed by the engineer-in-charge.
Cable shall be laid at a minimum depth of 600mm from ground level excavation will generally be
in ordinary soil. The width of the trench shall be sufficiently for laying or required number of
cables. The surface of the ground after back filling the earth shall be made goods go as to
confirm in all respects to the surrounded ground and to the entire satisfaction to site engineer.
For laying cable and clamping on structure for flood lighting clamps are to be provided at
approximately one meter distance. To fix the clamp on structure either 5mm diameter bolts are
to be welded on structure of hold can be drilled on structure leg in such a way that 2 core cable
can be clamped in straight run on structure up to the flood lighting terminals. For wall mounted
fixtures the cable shall be laid on wall by using grooved wooden base block, G. I. Saddle screws
etc.
Joints in the cable throughout its length of laying shall be avoided as per as possible and if
unavoidable prior approval of site engineer shall be taken. If allowed proper straight through
epoxy joint shall be made without any additional cost. A loop of one meter of each length of
cable shall be left near each street light pole. Also a loop of one meter shall be provided on both
ends of the cable. This additional length shall be used for fresh termination on in figure. Cable
for this loop shall be paid for supply and laying.

applicable states, regulation and safety code in the lighting where the equipment will be
installed nothing in this pacification shall be construed to relieve the bidder on these
responsibilities.
Unless otherwise specified, equipment offered shall conform to latest application Indian and
IEE standards equipments, complying with another authoritative standards such as British,
U. S. A. VDE etc, will also be consider if it insures performance equivalent of superior of
Indian standards in each cases the bidder shall clearly indicate the standard adopted and

1.2 On the top of the tubular pole as fabricated above one single/double side brocket of 1
meter length ( diameter of pipe suit fitting entry ) tilted at an angle of 20 shall be welded
and fixed at the top by means of fixing bolts, 4 Nos, and top cap by fixing bolts 2 Nos as

Bakelite connector brass neutral link rewire-able fuse rubber gaskets etc.
1.4 Inspection of poles shall be carried out at the work for various tests under IS-2713 &
1969 before it is dispatched to the concerned site
1.5 The junction box should be provided with proper bracing arrangement with poles by
means of G.I. strips. The junction box should have two/three holes at the bottom to
accommodate two/three brass cable glands of suitable size for the cable to be used the
cable glands of approved make shall be supplied by the contractor.
1.6 The pole including junction box shall be painted with one coat of anti-corrosive oxide
primer before dispatch to site and two coats of aluminum paint of approved mark (
preferable ASIAN paint )
1.7 The wall mounted G.I. pipe post shall be painted with one coat of anti-corrosive oxide
primer and two coats of aluminum paint. The junction box shall be applied one coat of
anti-corrosive oxide primer and two coats of black enamel as per instruction of
engineer-in-charge.
(22) INSTALLATION OF POLES AND WALL MOUNTED G.I. PIPE POST:
Installation of the poles shall be done as per drawing. The depth of pole to be done in
ground shall be 1/5th of total pole length or as specified in drawing whichever more. The
pole shall be grouted in pit of 450 x 450 x 1500mm with cement conceal (1:3:6) Before the
placement of pole in the pit 100mm thick 450 x 450mm (1: 3: 6) cement concrete bed shall
be prepared and only after drying, poles shall cast all around the pole, Above finished
ground level 2 Nos. of light duty 32mm or 38mm diameter PVC pipe, each of 1 meter length
for cable entries and 10 SWG G.I. earthing wire shall also be provided and laid during the
pedestal casting by the contractor
2.1 The concrete shall be protected from premature drying by curing for at least seven days
after pouring all concrete surfaces from 150mm belowground level to top shall be
finished concrete all the materials for civil and electrical works shall be arranged and
provided by the contractor.

Stringing of overhead earth wire in switch yard on S/S
22 structure including jointing, jumpering, tensioning, clamping 350
etc. complete as per instruction of EIC
Stringing of bus complete in all respect with fixing of all
23 fittings,insulator sag compensation spring and all 700
accessories as per instruction of engineer in charge.
Installation of GI strip of 50x6mm/75x10mm MS
flate/20mm/36 mm dia. MS round bar for 66 kV switch yard
24 including digging of trench size:1000 mm depth and 450 mm 1300
width in any type of soil except hard rock, laying in cable
trench and welding of bar.

junction bx for CT & PT terminations with 20 nos. of
disconnecting type "Elmex" make connectors as per
instruction of Engineer-in-charge. Min size of 730 X 510 X
220 mm.
Providing & fixing of 4 pole 4 wire MCB of 32 Amp. (MDS
make only) -1 nos.& 2 pole 2 wire-3 nos.MCB of 16 Amp.
(MDS make only) in AC MK Box includingg minor fabrication
work
Preparation of Cable & control wiring schedules based on
the schematic drawings supplied by the GETCO for the
switch yard & control room equipments as mentioned below.
(B) Complete set euip. of one 66Kv Feeder or Transformer
of 66kv or any other scheme.
Provide & fixing on 200 mm dia Alluminium disc for
equipment name plate.with black &white colour complete as
per instruction of EIC
Provide & fixing radium name plate for 66 kv feeder name
on panel & YARD complete work asper instruction of EIC.
