    Your letter to Commissioner Fiala, regarding your damaged NYS license plates, was forwarded
    to me for review and response.
    This is an issue that has recently been brought to our attention. We are currently looking into this
    matter to determine why some NYS plates are deteriorating or as in your case, the paint is
    wearing away.
    I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this matter has caused you.
    Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It is by listening to our patrons,
    that we are better able to serve the public.
