Fourth Grade Parent Newsletter #9

This week we are reading Horse Heroes. We will focus on some vocabulary words in
this story. It would be helpful if you will reinforce the meaning of these words at home with
your child. Also, on this newsletter you will find our spelling words for the week. Please
practice these words at home as well. The words in italics are our challenge spelling words.

Singular Possessive Nouns


A singular possessive noun is a singular noun that shows ownership.
For example: Lisas shoes are green.
Singular possessive nouns are formed by adding (s) to the end of the noun. It does not matter
whether or not the noun already ends in s.
For example: the tables legs or Tesss toy
