Congratulations to our friend, Will!

He has read 100 Books!!!

Centers
This week we added some new
puzzles to our Puzzles Center!
Math
At calendar this week, we have
changed the way in which we do Daily Data. On
Monday, they answer a question. The rest of the
days go as follows: Tally Tuesday, Write about it
Wednesday, Transform it Thursday, and Figure it
Friday. Each day requires the kids to think in different
strategies to solve problems.

Shared Reading
We have done an author study on Joy Cowley. She
is fabulous. She is from New Zealand and she began
writing childrens books because she, herself, had a
child that had difficulty learning to read. Her books
are predictable, fun, and engaging for preemergent readers. If you are looking for books to
read with your child, I strongly suggest Joy Cowley.
We have read lots of her books; Meanies, A Meanies
Party, Dan the Flying Man, Big and Little, The Meanies
Trick, Miss Wishy Washy, The Long Long Tail, Wishy
Washy Day, Splishy Sploshy, Yuck Soup, and Are You
a Ladybug? There are sooo many more! The kids
have really been enjoying her books. You can find
out more about her at www.joycowley.com.
Cockpit Construction

Shared Journal
This week, we wrote about
Reagan had a play date with a friend.
CJ went trick or treating.
Audrey was a flower girl in her Aunts
wedding.
Marguerite went to the lake with her family.
Free choice Friday

Each Kindergarten classroom is responsible for

building a different part of the plane or airport. Our
class is in charge of building the cockpit! We have
broken our class into groups to build the different
aspects of our cockpit. This week, we constructed
the windshield and the sky! The kids have been very
excited about this process, and very creative with
their construction.
