PRESENT CONTINUOUS

present tense that refers to an action happening at the moment of


speaking, used with time expressions NOW, AT THE MOMENT. We
also use it to talk about fixed future arrangements, things we have
planned to do in the near future.
I am talking.

we form present continuous with an auxiliary verb to BE in the present


(AM, ARE, IS) and by addingING to the infinitive

Y always stays the same at the end of the verb (play - playing)

if a verb ends in e, it is removed when adding -ing form


(drive - driving, ride - riding, move - moving)

Example sentences
I am writing a report now. What are you doing?
I am going home from work. Where are you going?
I am meeting my friend for lunch.
Next week she is going to Spain for holidays.
They are going to the cinema this evening.
Oh no, it is raining! I don't have an umbrella.
