Intro- 5 mins (what is a suffix and how do they change words)

Interactive Activity-10 mins
Closure-5 mins (assess how well they did, go over trouble areas)
Students will sit around SMART board in small groups. I will
introduce the lesson and make connection to prefixes (opposite)
which they previously learned. Ask then what a suffix is (where does
it go in a word, beginning or end).
The students will then take turns completing each slide. First slide
introduces suffixes and gives explanation of how different suffixes
change words.
The students have to add the correct suffix to the word and say why.
They check their answers on the SMART board. Finally, we will
review suffixes each saying one thing they learned and go over any
mistakes.

Student
Accomodations

To make sure to say the word aloud not only let them read it for
harder words and students with low reading levels.
