Museum Exhibition
My museums purpose is to showcase the different artifacts I have found on
ancient civilizations. The theme of my museum is religion and tradition. There are many
different things that contribute to being a civilization, but religion and tradition is
important. Having the same beliefs and ideas among people brings them together and
unites them. Without it, there is no bond between the people.

I have six artifacts in my museum.

Statuette of Lama
1307-1282 BCE.
Found in the Lower Zab River Valley
Description:
Lama was a goddess of protection. She protected the citizens. The
Statuette of Lama fits with the religion category because if someone
felt they need protection in some way, they would pray to this.

Vessel
Originated in 2600-2350 BCE.
Found in the Lower Zab River Valley.
Description:
This detailed vessel has the sculpting of a face of a woman. At religious
ceremonies, this vessel could be used to bring oil or wine.

Umin

Clay Tablet of a banquet scene.

Found in the Diyala Plains.
2600-2500 BCE.
Description:
While we dont understand what is exactly going on in the scene, it fits
in this museum because it shows that people are coming together for what could have
been a religious ceremony, or a celebration.

Statue
Found in Diyala Plains
This statue is from 2900-2600 BCE.
Description:
This statue shows a man walking with a box on his head. Taking an
educated guess, the box contains a sacrifice for a religious ritual.

Voltive Bowl
Found in the Upper Zab River Valley
2600-2350 BCE
Description:
From a distance, this may look like an ordinary bowl. But take a
closer look! There are carvings on the sides of the bowl that make us believe it was used
to carry offerings or used for traditional events.

Vessel Stand
2600-2350 BCE
Found in the Upper Zab River Valley
Description:
This artifact was a great find! Being in such good shape, you can tell this
is a nice and detailed artwork. This vessel stand would have been found at religious
gatherings where citizens could put their offerings.

Umin

As you can see, all of these ancient artifacts have some traditional or religious
purpose. It is interesting to see some of the collectables that were so important to these
groups of people back in ancient times. However, today we still have similar objects that
resemble these artifacts.
