AGRICULTURAL GIFTS
Its easy and its an option many farmers
are not aware of. You can give a readily
available asset and not have to convert it to
cash first.
Tax savings are possible too.
Rather than selling products at market and
then making a gift to the foundation you can
give products directly to your community
foundation. This allows you to avoid
including the sale in your farm income
and/or self-employment tax calculation.
How To Donate
1. Notify Harrison County Community
Foundation that you intend to donate grain,
livestock, timber, or other agricultural
products.
2. HCCF will establish an account with your
selected purchasing facility.
3. Deliver the product to the facility. (You can
designate full or partial loads.)
4. Donor signs a form with the purchasing
facility releasing ownership to HCCF.
5. Net proceeds from the sale will be sent
directly to HCCF and used according to
your wishes.
