M.C.

Escher
Jonah Hildoer

The artist that I chose was that impacted me was M. C. Escher. He impacts me because I really like his work and how interesting it is. I
learned about him when my brother had a picture of one of his paintings hung up in his room. M.C. Eschers work was influenced by
many things. He was inspired by the Italian countryside and Italian buildings. Later he was inspired by Moorish castles in Spain. The
most interesting thing is that he was inspired by science and math. Many scientists and mathematicians are fans of his works like the
Penrose Triangle, the Mobius strips and Gravity.

Whats similar about his work and mine is that I drew a picture of
a hand drawing a hand drawing a hand. This was like his art
Drawing Hands. The differences are that I didn't have shading
and his is more complex and I am just simple. He also made his
using a lithograph and I did mine in pencil. I am also hoping I can
some time draw something like his picture relativity. Another
piece of art I like that he made was the waterfall.

Not only are his works seen in many math and

science departments in many schools but
sculptures in many public places in the world
imitate his prints. His works are copied in pop
culture. Many tributes have been made to his
work Hand with reflecting sphere.

If M.C. Escher ever saw my art I think he

would like it. I think this because he would see
I like his art and that I would want to do more
art just like his.

Here is his early work called Wild West.

Also, he knows that with time my work will get

better. His early work was not as good as his
later art because with age he gained more
experience and inspiration from many places
and artists.
