BIOGRAPHY

Laura Letinsky is a Canadian photographer best known for her still life . She
was born in 1962 in Winnipeg, Canada.

Her B.F.A. is from the University of Manitoba, 1986, and her M.F.A. from Yale
University School of Art, 1991 and she is a Professor at the University of
Chicago, Department of Visual Arts

Much of her work alludes to human presence, without using actual figures. For
example, in her series Mourning and Melancholia (1997- 2001),and the I did not
remember I had forgotten series (2002- 2004), Lentinsky seems to show the
aftermath of what seems to be some sort of gathering or dinner party.
