Grade Level: One

Subject: Math- Patterning


Brief description of activity: Students will go to the website and will be shown examples
of various patterns (represented with objects) with different names (AB, AAB, ABC,
ABBC, etc) and will have to identify the names of the patterns.
General learning outcome: Use patterns to describe the world and to solve problems.
Specific learning outcome: . Demonstrate an understanding of repeating patterns (two to
four elements) by:
describing
reproducing
extending
creating
patterns using manipulatives, diagrams, sounds and actions.

ICT outcomes: Students will access, use and communicate information from a variety of
technologies.
Students will use technology to investigate and/or solve problems.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the nature of technology.

Google search, decided to use a topic that I am working with in my practicum so then I
will have this activity in my back pocket. I used the search grade 1 patterning online
activity and this was a link I found after exploring for only a few minutesa
