Possible genres that I could do:

Pop:
Strengths

Weaknesses

-Can be targeted at a young audience

-Will not appeal to the older target audience

-My models on the magazine will be college

students so this will match the target audience

-Pop magazines are generally aimed at just

females, so this would not appeal to a male,
narrowing down my audience

-Pop music is generally in the charts so this will

appeal to a wide range of interests

-Not everyone is interested in pop so some of my

target audience may not find it appealing

Rock:
Strengths

Weaknesses

-A rock magazine can target the older audience

as well as a younger audience

-Will not target a very young audience as they

are more interested in pop music

-Can be established well by using dark colours

and props

-May be hard to find a model that looks as if they

are in the Rock industry

-Can target both the female and male audiences

-Even though they target both female and male,

it may be hard to establish this as the models will
be a mixture of female and male which may
change the perception of the magazine

Classical:
Strengths

Weaknesses

-The magazine can be produced quite simply

without the needs of much editing

-Can be perceived as quite boring and not as

entertaining as other magazines

-Appeals to a higher class audience so can be

marked at a higher price

-As it only appeals to a more higher class in

general, this means that there is not a wider
target audience which will reduce the sales of the
magazine

-Can appeal to both the female and male

audience

-Would be quite hard to appeal to both the

female and male audience within using the props
and costumes etc.
