Informal Assessment Questions

How do we tell time?


Whats the difference between AM and PM?
Which hand on a clock shows the hour?
Which hand on a clock shows the minute?
Whats the difference between an analog and digital clock?
Formative Assessment
The formative assessment will be a game. Students will be given a small wipe
off clock (or Judy clock). The teacher will review time to the hour, half hour,
quarter hour, and five minute intervals with example problems (3 of each).
The students will have to draw the correct time on the clock and write the
time below.
1. Show me 1:35.
2. Show me 4:00.
3. Show me 6:15
4. Show me 11:30.
The teacher will then assess students to see what concepts need to be
retaught.

Summative Assessment
The summative assessment will be an end of chapter test. The test will
include questions such as showing times on an analog clock, writing times
shown on clocks, choosing the correct time that is shown on a clock, and
listing two events that happen in both the AM and PM hours.
1. What time is it?

2. Show me 2:15.

3. Which clock shows 5:45?

4. List two events that happen in the AM hours.


5. List two events that happen in the PM hours.

ADAPTATIONS:
Severe almost deaf/hearing impaired (informal)
o Discussion questions will be written out on a worksheet.
ELL from Mexico who understands some English in simple sentences but can
only answer with single words (formative)
o Translate to Spanish
o Questions:
Muestreme dos menos veinte y cinco.
Muestreme cuatro en punto.
Muestreme seis y quince.
Muestreme once y treinta.
ADD child (summative)
o The child will have the same test that the other students have but the
problems will be spaced out to four on a page.
