Arrival/Dismissal

Routines and Procedures


1. Students will be allowed in the building starting at 8:45, except for those students in the early arrival
program.
2. Parents will accompany students into the building when they are tardy (after the 9:15 bell).
3. K students will go to dismissal locations at 3:38 p.m.
4. 1st and 2nd grades will go to dismissal locations at 3:40 p.m.
5. Grades 3-5 will go to dismissal locations at 3:42 p.m.
6. After carpool is complete, extra students will be moved to the Lobby. Parent must come to lobby to pick
up student and sign them out on clipboard with sign-out sheet (with time). Parents must call if they know
they are going to be late.
7. Teacher-led classes will follow dismissal routes during afternoon dismissal.
8. Walker dismissal location: Drama room
Bus dismissal/special transportation location: Multi-purpose room (3rd-5th), Music Room (K-2nd)
Carpool, daycare vans and cabs: cafeteria
9. Families will be informed at the beginning of the school year and periodically throughout the year of proper
arrival and dismissal procedures (ex. parent notes/calls for afternoon transportation changes) through the
following:
1. school messenger
2. parent/student handbook
3. teacher newsletters
4. visible signs indicating traffic flow
5. school website
10. All students will enter through the front doors of the school. Bus students will cross over the breezeway
and enter through these doors also.
11. Any students required to stay after school (tutoring, rehearsals, etc.) will dismiss with their teacher to the
bus dismissal locations where there will be a designated area for these students. The staff member in
charge of their after school activity will pick them up from this area when their afternoon duty is complete.
12. Afternoon Carpool Cafeteria dismissal procedures: Enter the cafeteria quietly; cabs, vans, and daycare go
to the left; cars go to the right; bookbags on the table; no supplies, books, or homework out; exit caf
quietly using walking feet.
13. Any items brought or worn to school must respect learning and the safety of others. Some items that
distract learning are trendy items such as Silly Bands, toys, Bakugan, mp3 players, any handheld games,
etc. Therefore, we are asking students to leave these items at home. The only occasions these items will be
allowed in school are on Share Days, School Spirit Days, and Classroom Reward Days as directed by
school staff.
