    concluding statement or section. Students will be assessed on their
    ability to meet this goal based on a rubric.
    Context for Learning

    There are 24 children in the classroom. 10 boys and 14 girls.

    Students have learned about informative writing..

    This is day 3 of a weeklong unit.

    Instructional Delivery
    Opening Activities/Motivation

    State student outcome, as posted in discussion area.

    Students will watch an engaging video on Brain Pop Jr. about paragraph writing.

    Students will have access to a discussion board of examples of second grade paragraphs.

    Procedure
    1. Explain that today we will be organizing information on a worksheet and
    beginning to write a paragraph about one detail of the animal.
    2. Have students use the information from yesterdays post to create a topic
    sentence and three details about their animal. Students will need to post the
    information to the discussion board and have the teacher accept the paragraph
    before moving forward.
    3. After the paragraph has been accepted, students will watch a screencast for how
    to edit a KidBlog blog and present information.
    4. Students will begin entering information in their part of the website.
    5. Students will need to include a title, a paragraph,and a picture on the blog.

    Assessment/Evaluation
    Assess the students page in KidBlog.
    Assess that the students have identified a topic sentence and three details.

    Closure
    Blogs will be posted in group area for review by other students.

    Differentiation
    Students will be grouped based on accommodations needed.
    Some groups will have sentence frames on the blog that can be filled in.
    Advanced groups will learn how to add videos to their website.
