1.) Lesson Content Development: Progressions
Instant activity: Students will practice their basketball, volleyball, or soccer skills before class
begins and while everyone is getting changed. This way they can practice their eye hand
coordination and fitness before we start class.
Set induction: Hey 6/7/8th graders. Today we will be playing a high intensity game called
handball. Now in America, handball is mostly played only in Physical Education, however this
game is a very competitive sport played throughout the rest of the world. It has been an
Olympic sport for decades too! This game is a blend of ice hockey, soccer, and basketball.

2.) Closure:
Have students return the equipment to the proper area and bring them in to you.
Discuss the different cues for throwing and passing. Remind students this
should be a very fast paced and high scoring game.
Students, you did a great job passing and shooting during our activities and
game. Next class we will be playing more speedball so you can all get a better
understanding of what a full game feels like.
