I have the opportunity to acquire leadership skills in the leadership

Scholars. In this programme, I befriend peers from other schools and
widen my social circle.
As I do not have to worry about nances, I am able to pursue my
passion in dancing - both contemporary and tradition. Most important
of all, as a Nanyang Scholar, I am given priority for the Global Immersion
Programme which provides the experience of studying and working
abroad. I am excited as I will be able to discover new things and acquire

the four years bond that most scholarships have. It allows me to fully
explore my career choices after graduation. I have always been interested
in banking and nance thanks to the Nanyang Scholarship, I am relieved
of the liability of tuition fee loan and am free to use the money as a headstart to pursue my interests in the eld of investment.
I think being humble and having an insatiable thirst for knowledge are

It has always been my dream to become a highly sought-after Public
Relations specialist, ever since I was 16 - which is why coming to NTU
to pursue my degree in Communication Studies seems to be the most
natural path to take.
Apart from being able to chart my own studies and progress, I am free
to explore my passions in different elds. The scholarship has also taken
a huge nancial load off my shoulders, leaving me with the time and
energy to take on a more active role in my co-curricular activities and hall
committee.
My life in NTU may be hectic, but my experience here has been nothing
short of fullling. And that is the best part of being a Nanyang Scholar.

THE MAKINGS OF A
NANYANG SCHOLAR

PROVISIONS OF THE
SCHOLARSHIP

In order to qualify for the Nanyang

Scholarship, you must not be on nor
have received any other scholarship.
Excellent grades in the GCE `A Level
Examination,
Local
Polytechnic
Diploma, NUS High School Diploma,
IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent
qualications are a precursor to
become a Nanyang Scholar. In
addition, your Co-Curricular Activities
(CCA) record should demonstrate
leadership potential throughout your
junior college, polytechnic or high
school years.

If selected as a Nanyang Scholar and upon

maintaining satisfactory standard of academic
performance and conduct, you will receive the
following benets throughout the course of your
undergraduate study:
Subsidised tuition fees (after Tuition Grant)
Living allowance of S$6,000 per academic year
Book allowance of S$500 per academic year
Accommodation allowance of up to S$2,000
per academic year (applicable to scholars who
reside in NTU hostels only)
Computer allowance of S$1,500 (one-off)
Settling-in allowance of S$250 (one-off)
Participation in a unique Leadership Training
Programme
Priority for the Global Immersion Programme
No bond is attached to the Nanyang Scholarship
apart from the three-year bond applicable to all
Singapore PRs and international students under
the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.

TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP

As the scholarship is offered to students admitted to NTU, you should first submit the online
application form at http://admissions.ntu.edu.sg/undergraduateadmissions for admission
to NTU. Applications for admission and scholarship will close on the same date.
After you have successfully submitted the online application form for admission, the
Application for Scholarship link will appear. In order to apply for the scholarship, key in the
application number assigned to you, and complete the application for scholarship online.
You are required to furnish an online appraisal (local applicants only) and one essay of not
more than 300 words. You will be invited for an interview if you are shortlisted.
