Guidelines for the Wood Badge Cooking Contest

1. You may not spend more than your monetary allotment from the
quartermaster.
2. The retail value of donated food counts towards your allotment.
3. To compete, you must make a full accounting to the Senior Patrol
Leader at the Day 4 patrol leader council meeting. Accounting to
include original store receipts and written explanation of
expenditures or gifts.
4. You will have up to 4 guest at every meal.
5. Each meal will be eaten as a patrol. No food should be served until
all guests and patrol members are present.
6. The meals should be served family style or buffet style with
everyone sitting together at a table.
7. The meals should be nutritionally well-balanced.
8. There should be a grace said at every meal.
9. The cooking area should be clean and sanitary and appearance.
10. The portions should be reasonable. Did everyone have enough to
eat?
11. The food should be:
a. Served on time
b. Tasty
c. Attractive and appearance
d. If possible, unique or extraordinary in some way.
12. Food must be stored in your campsite. Ice will be provided at
your request.
13. No patrol member may miss any presentation (or part thereof) to
begin fire building were cooking early.
