SIMULATION DESCRIPTION
The above circuit shows the synchronous reference frame theory based
simulation technique for enhancement of power quality by reduction of harmonics
using three phase shunt active power filters. Here the reference current is
generated by using PI controller and injected in the supply line, hence resulting in
the cancellation of harmonics.

The above figure 4.3 shows the reference current generation technique using
PI controller. Here the Kp and Ki values are adjusted using trial and error method
in order to produce the gating signals. This gating signals are used to trigger the
inverter circuit for producing the compensating current.
Fig. 4.5 shows waveforms for regulated voltage and current waveforms. The
above waveforms are obtained after the cancellation of harmonics. As a result the
reference current is created and induced in the supply line which results in the
cancellation of harmonics.
REFERENCE CURRENT

Fig. 4.10 shows the FFT analysis for load current. The figure also shows
the THD value for load current. Before compensation THD value for load current
is 31.15%.
Fig. 4.11 shows the FFT analysis for source current. The figure also shows
the THD value for source current. After compensation the THD value for source
current is 4.43%.
