Analysing vibes contents page.

Heading- the heading is in a bold white

typography which stands out well on the dark red
background. It is also useful for the
reader/audience as this allows them to search for
an article they are looking for easily without the
need to read through everything else on the page.

Vertical column- the

column has a simple
layout that is
separated in to two
sections so that it is
easy and functional
for the audience to
read. The vertical
column is also used
to frame the main
inset image.

Page numbers- the

page numbers are
useful to the target
audience as they
locate the articles
that they may want
to look at so this will
make it more
functional and easy
for them.

Content title- the word contents has been

layout is an unusual way which is used as a
house style in vibe magazines and makes
the music magazine unique to others. It is
also in bold big white typography on a dark
red background which makes the title
stand out for the audience to read and
know what the page is about.

Magazine logo- the

magazine logo on the
contents page shows
continuity of the front
cover which allows the
target audience to become
familiar with the logo and
would mean they can
recognise the magazine in
future.

Institutional details- the

date is displayed in the
bottom right corner as
this informs the reader
when the issue has come
out so they can refer to it
in the future.

Main inset image-The layout of the contents page is

very orientated towards the main image and
everything is placed in accordance to this picture. It is a
mid-close up of a model topless. He is showing of his
tattoos and has a variety of chains around his neck
which he is pulling and he is wearing a baseball cap
backwards which stereotypically represents youth
culture. The model shows anger through the use of his
facial expressions and body language which suggests
the image is not designed to be appealing to a target
audience.
