Apart from the obvious, how do the sexes differ?
1. The average height for men is 1.77m while women are on average 12cm shorter. (sexual

2. The average female hip measurement is 1.00m while mens hips are on average 8cm
smaller. (sexual records.com)
3. The average male weighs 78 kilos which is 13 kilos heavier than the average female.

4. Women have a 78% greater chance of becoming blind. (World Health Organization).
5. Men are 2.7 times more likely to become involved in a road traffic accident. (World
Health Organisation).
6. Men are 4 times more likely to die of a smoking related illness. (World Health
Organisation).
7. Women are 3 times more likely to suffer from migraines compared to men. (FDA)
8. Although men are more likely to suffer from heart attacks, women are more likely to die
within 1 year of a heart attack. (FDA)
9. There are an estimated 781 million illiterate adults in the world, about 64% of whom are

10. There are 103.5 million out-of-school children, of which 57% are girls. (UNESCO)

13. Although 58% of the worlds TV news readers are women, only 21% of news subjects

14. Although 70% of asylum seekers are male, females have a 76% chance of being granted

15. Women have less body water (52% for the average woman v. 61% for the average man).
This means that a man's body will automatically dilute the alcohol more than a woman's

18. Men are more intelligent than women by about five IQ points on average, making them
better suited for tasks of high complexity. (British Journal of Psychology)
19. A study from the University of Nebraska Lincoln found college women to be more
weight-conscious and more likely to diet than college men. Among men, 45.2% were
overweight or obese, compared to 13.9% of women. But 57.4% of the women said they
needed to lose weight, compared to 28.6% of the men.
20. Men are approximately 3 times more likely to commit suicide then women. (Royal
