Journalis
Colfax, WI The Winona State Cross Country team placed 14 overall with five teammates on the mens team
running under 27:35 at the Blugold meet last Friday.
Teammates, Bryan Lindquist, David Lund, Kyle Dammen and Clay Scott all raced under 27:35. The men ran
eight kilometers and the women ran six kilometers.
The mens lead time was set by freshman, Billy Eifert. He had a time of 26:42, which placed 57th out of 152 team
places. There were over 370 total runners. The mens team placed 14th overall with a time of 27:14 2:16:08 0:51.
The University of Wisconsin Lacrosse won the event with a team time of 25:41 2:08:23 0:24. This was the Warriors fifth meet this season.
22 teams competed in the mens division and 19 teams for the womens. The girls team placed 10th with a team
time of 24:01 2:00:04 0:28. When asked how the womens team did last Friday, Junior Kayla Gudmundson said,
We did pretty well. There were a lot of personal best. Gudmundson has been running competitively since 7th
grade. She had a time of 24:19.
Freshman Jessica Young set the womens lead time with 23:52. Young is among several freshmen that have been
doing well this year. Weve added a lot of new freshman to the team, said Gudmundson. Jessica Young has
been doing consistently well this season. She placed 43rd overall at last Fridays meet.
Both mens and womens ran full force. Its a fast course, said Assistant Coach Adam Boothe. He and Head
coach Neal Mundahl coach both mens and womens Cross Country teams. Mundahl has been the head coach for
13 years for the womens and 10 years for the mens. He led the womens team to the NSIC Team Championship
and the NSIC Individual Championship in 2004 and won both. He has earned three NSIC Coach of the Year
awards.
The next meet is the Pine Hill Invitational at Carlton, MN. The meet will take place on Saturday the eighth at
10:00 a.m. and will feature the presence of the entire team. It is also an overnight trip for the athletes making it
the first overnight meet this season. Only two more meets until the NSIC Championships in Moorhead, MN.
The biggest threat to us this season is Mankato State and St. Cloud State. We should be able to beat both of
them. They have beat us in the past but our team is definitely better then it was in the past seasons, said Gudmundson. Conference is my favorite meet. The location usually changes every year but its during the time when
everyone is at their peak.
If the team does well at conference they will go on to Denver, CO. to qualified for a spot at the NCAA Central
Regional conference meets. After that its NCAA division two Championships held in Spokane, WA for a chance
at the Division championship. The Warriors continue to train hard for the rest of the season, practicing almost
everyday. For more information visit http://www.winonastatewarriors.com

Demi wants Moore alimony payments from ex Kutcher
On behalf of The Law Firm of Michael J. Shew, Ltd. posted in Alimony on Wednesday,
March 20, 2013
Most Phoenix residents in tune to pop culture have heard by now that actor Ashton
Kutcher and actress Demi Moore are getting divorced. After six years of marriage,
the Hollywood couple decided to call it quits. The divorce may not be a surprise but
Moores demand for alimony payment from Kutcher might surprise a lot of people.
The actress is 15 years older than her ex-husband and has demanded that he pay her
alimony after their divorce in December 2012. Many Hollywood insiders speculate
that Moore is acting out of revenge. The actress has an estimated 150 million dollar
fortune, while Kutcher is worth 140 million. Since the separation, both spouses still
maintain their large fortunes. It is safe to say that Moore probably wouldnt be too
hard up for money if she did not get alimony payments. Moore has more wealth than
Kutcher, which greatly reduces her chances of receiving alimony. It is assumed that a
judge would never allow alimony in this situation. But nonetheless, she will still try to
get money from him.
Not everyone is left with $150 million after a divorce. In the state of Arizona, the
spouse that earns more income typically does not qualify for alimony payments. After
all, the purpose of alimony is to correct any unfair economic effects of a divorce on
one party. There are spouses out there that really need the payments to help made ends
meet. In these cases, alimony is generally awarded but it depends on a lot of factors
that are often hard to predict.
If curious how alimony works or if an individual is qualified to pay or receive it, they
should consult with a legal attorney to find out what their best options are.
