    The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection provided an update on improvements to the Bashan Lake Dam. The dam's gate was opened in September 2014 and the water level had dropped 12.5 feet by early November. A contractor was selected in late October to complete the dam upgrades, including installing weir boards and working on the gate and buttress wall structures, with a new gate closure planned for March 2015 and boat launch upgrades to start in spring 2015. Residents with questions were advised to contact an agency representative.
