Research:
Look up the work the word self-reliant in the dictionary. Write a definition of the word.

Self-Reliant: reliant on one's own powers and resources rather than those of others. The
meaning of this word to me is that you have to kind of relay on yourself rather than depending on
someone else.

Do the students circumstances make them more self-reliant? Why or why not? Does selfreliance mean the same thing to each the students? If there definitions of self-reliant are different,
what is different about the definitions? What do the students learn from their circumstances
about self-reliance?

I believe that in the circumstances that the students are going through really makes them
self-reliant. But I think at some point that those students have to rely on one another. I believe
this is true because at some points you have to rely on yourself because there will be a time that
they will by themselves and no one can help. I think that the definition are kind of similar.
