International Day

of People with Disability


To mark International Day of People with Disability,
the Commission is hosting an event that combines
self advocacy and art to promote the rights of
people with disabilities.
Speakers include:
Peta Ferguson (President, Brain Injury Matters)
and
Heather Lawson (DeafBlind Victorians).
The 2014 theme for International Day of People
with Disability is Sustainable Development:
The Promise of Technology which focuses on
the power of technology to promote inclusion
and access.

Rights, Camera, Action!

The Commission will also launch Rights, Camera, Action! a video about the Equal Opportunity Act
workshopped and performed by young media makers with disabilities, Dream Theatre.
