Activities of the Day / Period

We had a visit to MINtec SINAGAMA Nuclear Malaysia began developing radiation

processing of various products at the SINAGAMA Irradiation Plant in January 1989 using
ionizing energy in form of gamma radiation Cobalt-60 source. This time, rambutan is one of
the potential fruits product to irradiate at SINAGAMA irradiation facility. The benefits that
obtained through products irradiation such as reduction of microbical load, shelf-life extension
and delay ripening
Furthermore, we also get the knowledge about the Pathway of products to irradiate
product, how to tow the rambutan packed in container, examples of dosimeter used and many
more.
