beach has areas of quicksand! You must follow the path of past tense verbs to avoid the
quicksand.
Draw a path from one past tense verb to the next. You can go vertically, horizontally, or
diagonally.
Be careful! Many past tense verbs are spelled just like present tense with ed on the end, but
some have special spellings. The past tense of walk is walked, but the past tense of catch
is NOT catched. Its caught.

Yes! Quicksand can be found near beaches,
ponds, and marshes. It is usually a combination
of sand, clay, and salt water. Unlike in books
and movies, however, a person could not sink
all the way into quicksand. A person would only
sink about waist-deep.
