DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ) SERVER :

The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a standardized networking protocol used
on Internet Protocol (IP) networks for dynamically distributing network configuration parameters, such
as IP addresses for interfaces and services. With DHCP, computers request IP addresses and networking
parameters automatically from a DHCP server, reducing the need for a network administrator or a user
to configure these settings manually.
The DHCP server manages a pool of IP addresses and information about client configuration parameters
such asdefault gateway, domain name, the name servers, and time servers.
In small networks, where only one IP subnet is being managed, DHCP clients communicate directly with
DHCP servers. However, DHCP servers can also provide IP addresses for multiple subnets. In this case,
a DHCP client that has not yet acquired an IP address cannot communicate directly with the DHCP server
using IP routing, because it does not have a routable IP address, nor does it know the IP address of a
router.

RESULT :
After configuring the router, we have observed that a message is passed from one end device(pc3) to
another end device(pc1) and router is acting as a gateway for dynamically distributing network
configuration.

DNS(Domain Name System ) SERVER :

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical distributed naming system for computers, services,
or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. It associates various information
with domain names assigned to each of the participating entities.
It is a standard technology for managing public names of Web sites and other Internet domains. DNS
technology allows you to type names into your Web browser like lpu command your computer to
automatically find that address on the Internet. A key element of the DNS is a worldwide collection
of DNS servers.
A DNS server is any computer registered to join the Domain Name System. A DNS server runs specialpurpose networking software, features a public IP address, and contains a database of network names
and addresses for other Internet hosts.

After creting a DNS server ,we have observed that it allows us to type names into our Web browser like
lpu command to our computer to automatically find that address on the Internet.
