Nuha has been spending lots of time engaged in with threading beads activities.

Last
September I have written a learning story of Nuha titled Nuhas Necklace. Since then
she has improved a lot. In our practical life activity shelf we have a basket with some
plastic shapes with lots of little holes around the edges and a string to do the sewing.
Last few days Nuha has been practicing this sewing activities. First few times she just
enjoyed threading up and down which didnt look like sewing at all. So I gave her a
lesson how to choose a hole just next to the string and pull the string all the way.
Today she decided to do the pink heart shaped one. She pushed the string inside one
hole turned the shape over, pulled the string all the way, then push the string in again
just the next hole. When she saw that it does look like sewing she was very excited. I
was amazed to see how she was concentrating on this activity and managed to do all
the way around the pink heart. Nuha seems very pleased with her work.

Learning happening hereThroughout this activity Nuha was showing

that she can make her own decision,
developing hand-eye co-ordination, improving
imagination and independence, increasing
concentration, and most of all she was
enjoying doing this activity.
