RE: Appeal of Helen Banushi, Philadelphia Registered Elector and
ELIZABETH ELKIN, Philadelphia Registered Elector re: Yuonne
Strickland, et al.
Dear Adam:
‘As you know, I represent two Philadelphia Electors in the above-captioned
matter, appealing Philadelphia Election Day Orders. On November 18, 2014 you
tweeted from your personal/law firm account (@adambonin) “Remember E-Day,
when @PhillyGOP tried to stop five hospital patients’ emergency absentee ballots?
They're appealing.” This statement on your twitter account is incorrect and 1
have already notified you of such. The Philadelphia Republican City Committee is
not the Appellant in the above-captioned matter. Frankly, | am not sure a political
party would have standing. As a member of the Bar, you have a duty of candor.
While you are obviously a partisan politician, I ask that if you do choose to
disseminate information, that you take care to be factual in your commentary.
‘The Philadelphia Republican City Committee is committed to fair, open and
honest elections. To the extent you insist on utilizing social media to demonize the
Philadelphia Republican City Committee, you may whip up a frenzy in the liberal/
progressive echo-chamber but you also damage the credibility and candor necessary
to the legal process. You admitted, on the record, that the statute was not properly
followed. You argued that the judge should allow an extremely liberal
interpretation. On behalf of the Philadelphia Republican City Committee, I argued
that the law should be strictly followed. We both made our arguments with
conviction. To contort election day proceedings into an hysterical proclamation that
Republicans tried to stop disabled or sick people from voting sullies the integrity of
the election process. : :Law Orrices oF LINDA A. KERNS, LLC PAGE 2
Tam disappointed in you as those of us who are privileged enough to take on
the honorable role of protecting voters should know better.
