The Odd White Light

She was different
Peculiar; an everlasting flame.
She burned an odd white light;
She was definitely not the same.
She hissed when simmered with water
She was a fire struggling to remain bright.
Her burn was deathly,
But her warmth benign.
She was a beautiful danger,
A war worth fighting,
But everyone was terrified,
Of the storm.
The one which shook them all,
The one which treated everyone like a doll.
The storm thundered,
Extinguishing the flame,
That tried so hard to survive,
Through the tornado that had been cast.
She was unique,
Not the average rubicund of the flames.
She deserved a chance;
To light up the world.
Darkened by,
The grey cloud always present,
In the storm which tries to smother,
Those who burn a similar odd white light.
