ARKANSAS STATE USBC YOUTH BOWLING CHALLENGE TOURNAMEN’ “ ANNUAL SECTIONAL LEVEL RULES FOR ZONE 5 AGES 11 AND UNDER 1. ‘The Arkansas State USBC Youth Bowling Challenge Tournament is a USBC sanctioned tournament (#06747) and shall be ‘governed by USBC rules, 2. Dates of league level qualifying are: October 5 through October 18 and November 2 through November 15, 2014. Advancement from league is a one-time entry. If an individual who qualified cannot participate in the sectional competition, replacements will be eligible based on order of finish in previous com 3. Advancement ratio from league competition to state competition is atleast 4 for every 2 entries per division, including last-place tics, (Example; If there are four participants in a division, two bowlers can qualify and advance to the state competition. If there are five participants, then you may qualify two bowlers for that division.) The base number for each division is the number of league members that would have participated in that division. In all cases atleast one person per division shall advance. The advancement ratio shall be applied uniformly to all eligible divisions. 4, Competition will take place at: Central Bowling Lanes, 3917 Central Ave, Hot Springs, AR 72913 Phone: 501-525-1338, To be held: March 15, 2015. Squads and Times announced after the entry closure date and before the sectional competition begins. Squad Times will be mailed to the coaches with the tournament schedule 4. Entry closing date is January 12, 2015. Tournament entry form containing qualifiers’ name, address, telephone number, date of birth and USBC Youth ID number must be submitted by this date, Entries postmarked the fist post office business day after entry losing will be accepted. Entries postmarked thereafler shall be returned. 6. Divisions are based on the participant's age as of August 1, 2014. Competition for the sectional level shall be conducted in the following divisions: Ages 11 and under Boys’ Handicap and Girls’ Handicap. 7. The tournament format shall be: Ages 1 and under only and shall bowl three games, remaining on their assigned pair of lanes for all three games. Total pin-fall for all three games, plus handicap, will determine winners in each division. 8. Entry fee is: Ages 11 and under: Lineage $ 6.00 Expense $10.00 Symbolic Awards Fee $4.00 TOTAL ‘$20.00 Awards and scholarship fees shall be returned 100% to the bowlers. (© USBC Rutes 301d and 309 states that all scholarships must be deposited in the SMART Program) 10, All bowlers must wear suitable attire. No suggestive or obscene wearing apparel. No spaghetti straps, crop tops or short shorts. Shorts must be at least fingertip length. Attire must not have visible tears, holes or frays and undergarments may ‘not be exposed. All shirts must have sleeves. No head gear will be permitted except for medical conditions, No tobacco, beer or alcohol advertising allowed on wearing apparel or bowling equipment, No tobacco products or e-cigs by athletes will be permitted during competition, 11. No substitutes will be permitted once athletes have started tournament play. However, replacements may be used for bowlers, not present 15 minutes prior to the squad time as stated in Rule 2. Replacements must be in the order of finish from prior level of competition. (Example: the same window, same league and same center as the “no-show” bowler if replacement is from the league level. They must follow the order of advancement within that window/leagne.) 12, Length of practice shall be determined by the tournament director and be announced at the competition. 13, 4 15, 16 vy, 19, 20. au 2, ‘Uf no replacement has been made, bowlers arriving late shall begin play and the score shall count beginning with the frame being, bowled. Missed frames shall be credited with a zero. Frames may not be made-up. A bowler not present to bow! when i's their ‘tur will be credited with a zero for that frame. Bowlers shall use their highest current certified league average, minimum of 12 games, as of December 21, 2014. Ifthe ‘minimum has not been met, the bowler will present a league standing sheet dated closest to the date of competition. If an athlete only has a sport average, there will be an average adjustment using the USBC average adjustment chart. All averages must be verified by a standing sheet. Handicap division will be 100% of 210, ‘Only bowlers and tournament officials shall be permitted in the settee area ‘Ties for scholarship positions will be broken by a one game roll-off. Should ati still exist, it will be broken by an additional ninth and 10" frame roll-off, plus onc/tenth of handicap per frame where applicable. (Refer to rule 3268). Claims for errors in scoring or general playing rules must be made to the tournament director no later than the start of the next block or 30 minutes after the completion of competition. Questionable errors shall be decided upon by the tournament director. All other protests must be confirmed in writing to the tournament director within 72 hours of the infraction. Under this rule, each protest must be specific in itself Symbolic awards will be given as follows: Trophies or Plaques for 1 out of every 5 entries or major fraction thereof. ‘Scholarships will be awarded as follows: I* Place winner in each division - $100.00; 2 Place winner in each division - $50.00. ‘Advancement ratio: There is no advancement after sectional toumament. ‘The Arkansas State USBC Youth Bowling Challenge Tournament Committee will decide all matters not covered by these rules and regulations, or USBC roles and regulations.
