I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
A three unit course which seeks to study the enormity and richness of
literature in the Philippines. This course is a study of literary genres as
exemplified by selected literary pieces from various regions of the Philippines
written/delivered at different periods in Philippine literary history.
II. COURSE RATIONALE
Focus on the different era of colonization that will surely nourish the
appreciation and imaginations of the students as the topics continue to reveal
such things and will enlighten their mind. Furthermore, the subjects itself attest
their skills as well as to widen their mind to enhanced their gifted talent in
writings, analyzing and criticize different situations given to them.
III. GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to :
1. define and explain the importance of Philippine Literature.
2. identify the different types and elements of poetry, and also division
of poetry and prose.
3. distinguish and generalize fictions and non- fictions, short stories,
novels and plays.
4. relate some stories and its importance in daily living.
