Nowadays entrepreneurship known as the engine of growth and development in organizations
and communities and also it is as a symbol of trying and succeed in business. Entrepreneurship is
a creative activity. It is the ability to create and build something from practically nothing. It is a
knack of sensing opportunity where others see chaos, contradiction and confusion.
Entrepreneurship is the attitude of mind to seek opportunities, take calculated risks and derive
benefits by setting up a venture. It comprises of numerous activities involved in conception,
creation and running an enterprise. Entrepreneur is someone who perceives opportunity,
organizes resources needed for exploiting that opportunity and exploits it. The best entrepreneurs
do share a collection of characteristics, from tenacity to the ability to tolerate risk, that are crucial
to a successful venture. Entrepreneur must possess many skills which are required to become
successful entrepreneur, which include tangible factors as imagination, readiness to take risks,
ability to bring together and put to use other factors of production, capital, labour and land as
well as other intangible factors such as managerial skill, ability to mobilize scientific and
technological advances etc. This paper deals with the topic of Skills for Entrepreneurship. The
outline of this paper is definition of Entrepreneurship & Entrepreneur, functions of entrepreneur,
Role of entrepreneur in economic development, traits & skills of entrepreneur.
