Lesson Objective/ Desired Results:

Students will understand characters and the message of a given story by reading a text and
examining it with the educator.

Assessment Evidence:

Students will be 85% accurately evaluating the characters and the message of the given text by
building venn diagrams and comparison charts.:

Lesson Content:
Getting Started:

Review vocabulary for the given week.

Students will complete a class Venn Diagram on the chalk board by comparing characters and
messages given throughout the story.

Have students reread Destiny's Gift by popcorn reading.

Have students complete their daily proofreading practice on page T231

As a class have students complete coordinating conjunctions on page T230

Have students work on their personal narratives.

Aid students when support is needed.
