Mr. Joe Carlin, Technical Recruiter
EPSO Engineering Corp.
855 Midway Dr.
Oakbrook, IL 60527
Dear Mr. Carlin:
The reason for contacting you is due to my interest in the Architectural Draftsman position that is
available at this time. I have done some research on your company and am impressed with some
of the work that you have done despite your small size. Also, the fact that you design churches
for free is an amazing testament to the character of your company. In the past year, I received an
associates degree in Architectural Technology. In spring 2016 I will complete a bachelors degree
in Architecture and Sustainability and a minor in Facilities Planning Management. In addition to my
educational experience, I have experience in the field working for a small design firm like yours.
My previous experience comes from last summer when I was interning at a small architectural
firm in the Traverse City area. Most of my time was spent drawing in AutoCAD and fixing red-lined
drawings. The work that I have done is directly related to what your company completes, and it
would be possible for me to add speed to your process and also inform you and other employees
of new technology that has surfaced in the field recently.
Some other skills that I offer are confidence, strong communication skills and team work. Presenting projects with pride and confidence is always a goal of mine and I am constantly trying to
impress classmates and professors. My teamwork and communication skills come from group
projects and high school athletics. In school we are constantly put into groups with tight deadlines which forces us to overcome much adversity in order to achieve a worthy final product.
During athletics our teams were put through very difficult times and from that we were able to
come together as a group to defeat our opponents.
In conclusion, I am very interested in the position you have to offer and look forward to hearing from
you soon. I will be contacting you within the next week to ensure that you have received my resume
and set up a time for an interview with you. If you need to contact me I can be reached after six in
the evening at my number listed above. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, attached is
my resume and I look forward to speaking with you directly.
Sincerely,

Jason Baker
