This program will see EVERY student that signs up,
regardless of income or insurance. If you are
interested, please complete the permission slip and
return to your childs teacher by October 24th. Any
questions about the program, please call Kelly
Schmidt, R.N. School Nurse at 715-468-7815.
Wolf Ridge
The 7 grade will depart for Wolf Ridge on Monday
October 13. Parents, please remember to get students
to school by 7:15 to load up! The students will have
adventure classes for building personal confidence
such as rock climbing and a high ropes adventure
course. They will study the history of the North
Shore including the voyageurs of the fur trade and the
Ojibwe. Science classes include bird, geology,
genetics, weather, water quality, astronomy, ecology,
and more! There is also a raptor program with birds
of prey. Mr. Nauertz would like to thank everyone
who helps make this experience possible.

Laker Way Winners

th

Interstate Park
On Wednesday the 8th grade traveled to Taylors Falls.
The area was given the name, Delles of the St.
Croix Located here are the worlds largest and most
numerous potholes created by glacial melt water from
The Glacial Lake Duluth at the end of the last Ice
Age. Fractured billion-year-old basalt gave way to
the extreme forces as the melt water carved the gorge.
It was a beautiful day to learn how glacial forces
shaped our state.
School Store
The School Store will be open every Friday during
the High School Lunch Hour (11:00-11:30) and this
Friday at the homecoming game starting at 6:30.
Most items are HALF OFF to make room for the new
stuff coming soon!

Walk/Bike To School
This "shout out" goes to Taylor Hall for planning and
executing a fabulous walk/bike to school for all of the
students at Shell Lake. The teachers, parents, law
enforcement officers, and volunteers helped to make
it a huge success. The smiling faces and good
morning greetings set the stage for a great day to
learn and teach in the Shell Lake School District.

7-12 Band Meeting

There will be a meeting for 7-12 band parents that are
interested in discussing future band trips on Monday,
October 13th at 7pm in the band room. You do not
need to be a Band Aide member to attend. We are
looking for input on location, frequency, and costs
that are acceptable for families of band students.
Fire Safety
The Shell Lake Fire Department visited the Primary
School! They talked to the students about fire
safety, finding a meeting place in case of a fire, and
changing the batteries in their smoke detectors.
They also brought the smoke house which
simulates a fire with real smoke. Thank you to the
Fire Department Volunteers for keeping us safe in
Shell Lake!
