Multimodal Research Project Proposal
Introduction:
Our presentation will focus on the topic of the downfall of Rome, more
specifically Western Rome. We will approach our topic by researching and creating a
PowerPoint presentation to accompany our in depth analysis of the subject. Our
PowerPoint will include the basic points and visual aids that will supplement our oral
presentation.

Project Plan:
We will utilize PowerPoint to create the visual portion of the presentation, and we
will use Microsoft Word to plan out the oral aspect of the project. The Word documents
will allow us to divide up our discussion on the topic between the two group members.
Our presentation will be organized chronologically, describing the events as they
occurred. We will integrate our research throughout our presentation with the specifics
being in our oral portion and with the visuals and key ideas being displayed on the
PowerPoint.

Justification:
Our plan is effective for our topic because it organizes our research in a way that
illustrates how the fall of Western Rome developed. This is appropriate for a topic that
evolved over time that caused great change in the world. We believe this format will be

more engaging for the audience and will better represent the causes and effects of our
topic.

Roles and Responsibilities:

We will both research the topic individually to ensure that we both fully grasp all
aspects of the information. Once we have finished our research we will organize the
information to be readily available throughout all stages of the development of the
presentation. We will then pool our knowledge on the subject and work to create a
cohesive draft of the project. We will both work in collaboration to develop the
PowerPoint, and then distribute the key ideas between both group members to create an
in depth analysis of each slide. This will make up both segments of our presentation.
