Boeing
Boeing is a major aircraft manufacturer for all of the worlds airlines and the world in
general. The only other company that rivals Boeing is airbus. Boeing is an American based
manufacturer founded on July 15, 1916 by a man named William Boeing. Airbus on the other
hand is based out of France and other European countries. Boeing as of now is the number 1
aircraft manufacturer in the world and has been for many decades with airbus being a close
second.
Boeing along with many other manufacturers made airplanes for World War 2 but in the
post war era was the only name to stand out in the market. In July 1947 Boeings first civil
aircraft after world war 2 took to the skies, its name was the stratocruiser. According to 50
aircraft that changed the world the stratocruiser was better than any commercial airliner on the
market at the time but was eventually let go due to the price to fly and maintain the aircraft. A
few years later in 1955 50 aircraft that changed the world states that Boeing took a gamble on a
brand new jetliner they called the 707. The Boeing 707 turned out to be the most successful
jetliner ever built during the time period and was a huge stepping stone for Boeing. 50 aircraft
that changed the world states that because of the 707 the 707 family was created and eventually
led to the creation of the 747. Thanks to the 707 family Boeing would eventually become the
most successful aircraft manufacturer in the world.
Today the 707 family is what makes Boeing and is what Boeing is all about. The 707
family includes the 707,717,727,737,747,757,767,777, and the brand new 787. Although out of

the bunch the main plane that stands out of the bunch is the Boeing 747. According to
Encyclopedia of flight the 747 was the biggest success for Boeing because of the amount of
people it could hold and for almost 4 decades was the biggest passenger airliner in the world
which gave Boeing a monopoly in the superjet market until Airbus came out with the Airbus
a380. The Boeing 747 was first introduced in the 1969 Paris airshow and according to the
encyclopedia of flight, got the nickname superjet the 747 was so successful that Boeing made
up to now 5 different generation 747s the one at the Paris airshow was a 747-100. The
Encyclopedia of Flight states Boeing went along to make the747-200, 300, 400, and now the
brand new 800.
In conclusion I believe that Boeing is a revolutionary aviation manufacturer and is the
best company in their league. I believe that Boeing will never be number two in the aviation
industry and will always be remembered as one of the aviation manufacturing pioneers. I
appreciate the time that has been taken to read this over and i thank you very much for reading
this final draft.
