Subject: Remember & Replicate

1. Standard(s)
4.1.2 Children will count with understanding to at least 10.
4.1.3 Children will use numbers to tell how many (number quantity).
4.4.5. Children will describe, name and interpret distance and position in space;
understand and use positional words.
5.2.2 Children will observe, describe, compare, and categorize objects on the basis of
qualities such as weight, shape, size, color and temperature
8.2.1. Children will perform fine motor tasks that require small-muscle strength and
control.
8.2.2 Children will use eye-hand coordination to perform fine motor tasks.
8.2.3 Children will use pincer grip to grasp and manipulate writing, drawing, and
painting tools.
2. Introduction to Lesson
Tell the students that they are going to participate in a memory game activity. For this
game, everyone will need a play board and play dough. Explain to the students that
they are going to be divided into 2 groups. They will sit at the tables to play this game.
Have children walk to the tables like snakes.
3. Goal(s)/Expectation(s)
By the end of the lesson, we will be able to:
-use eyes to remember what we saw.
-use our hands to make shapes with play dough.
-use self-checking skills to make corrections if needed.
4. Guided Instruction & Independent Practice/Study
1. Show students the play board.
2. Have students make balls, pancakes and spaghetti. Help children make the
shapes. Have students say around, around when making a ball; flat, flat
when making a pancake and Back and Forth when making spaghetti.
3. Have students return the play dough back to the dot on the play board. Pick
up the Hand mediator card and tell them the script that is on page 435.
4. Make 2 balls and 1 spaghetti. Use private speech as I make the shapes. Put
the extra play dough on the black dot.

5. Cue the students to remember what they see, and then hide the forms. Before
I cover them with the cloth, say the speech on page 436.
6. Turn the hand card to the students and tell them it is their turn to make what
they remember.
7. Use the Check card to show the students it is no time to check their work.
Take away the Hand and card and put the Check card down. Take the cover
away.
8. Students will check and make changes if necessary.
5. Closure of Lesson
Clean up and put items away.
Tuesday- Remember and replicate 2 spaghettis and 1 ball.
Wednesday-2 spaghettis and 1 pancake.
Thursday-2 pancakes and 1 spaghetti.
Friday-2 balls and 2 pancakes
