In addition, Amanda completed a teaching practicum class here through Seton Hill University, where she observed various classrooms, taught rigorous lessons, and assumed responsibilities of a teacher. During her visits at both schools, Ms. Staso displayed professional knowledge of classroom leadership techniques, and was instrumental in actively engaging students in K-S in the reading process. For example, she assisted small groups of students with phonies skills, applied them to word recognition, and eventually whole-sentence reading, using repetition to help gain fluency. Because of her warm personality and creativity, students responded positively to her lessons. In a short amount of time, Ms. Staso was able to develop a positive rapport with the students. As a classroom teacher of 18 years, based on my observations, itis with full confidence that | say Ms. Staso possesses the qualities attributed to outstanding teaching.
