Dear Parent or Guardian,

Hi, my name is Brittany Fox and I recently completed my Masters in education at the
University of Mary Washington and I am currently completing my internship for licensure. I will
be working with ____________ as a student teacher in your son or daughters class until October
10th. This is the fifth classroom that I have worked in during my time at the University of Mary
Washington, and I feel as though all of my training and experience have prepared me for this
endeavor. Prior to completing my internship, I also worked for three years as a behavioral and
mental health counselor in the elementary school setting.
I love working with children and watching them learn new things. I am passionate about
literacy and mathematics, and I also enjoy the arts and doing crafts. I enjoy reading aloud and I
aim to make story time an interactive process. As a result of my background in psychology and
social work, I focus on the whole child and I believe that every child can be successful and
achieve their goals. I will be supportive and empathic in my approach with each student.
For the next six weeks, I will be working closely with ______________ to plan and teach
