2 Application Package

The English Foundation Programme is an ideal way for students to improve their
English skills before starting their hospitality studies at SHMS, Swiss Hotel Management School. Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) is the standard English
language testing system used by SHMS, and is used to test all students who do not
provide a valid English test result of the equivalent standard (e.g. TOEFL or IELTS).
The length of the programme depends on the students personal English level and
motivation, with the main objective of achieving the required score to enter the
desired study programme. The English Foundation Programme runs throughout the
year in four-weeks blocks. Students may enter the programme at any point, but for
a minimum of four weeks and a maximum of 20. Once the required score of the
Oxford Online Placement Test has been achieved, the student may progress to the
desired programme.
The fee is CHF 600.- per week.
