MSI X320 Step-by-step Windows XP OS Installation Guide

List of Materials needed:


1. External USB CD/DVD Rom Drive w/ Windows XP OS Installation Disc

2. External USB 1.44 FDD w/ 1.44 Floppy Disc

Windows XP OS Installation Step-by-step guide:


1. Press function key F11 upon boot up, then youll be prompted with the
screen below to select the boot device. Select the external ODD device used
then press ENTER

2. When prompted with below screen, press any key to boot from CD.

2. Press function key F6 when prompted with below screen.


Note: the instruction is located on the lower left part of the screen.

3. Then press S key to select Specify Additional Device

5. Select Silicom Image Sil 3531 SATALink Controller for windows XP/Server
2003 then press Enter key

6. After the Silicon Image driver is successfully installed, press ENTER key to
continue. (After this process, you can now proceed to the normal Windows XP
installation procedure)
Note: Please follow the steps provided with pictures.

7. Type the product key provided by Microsoft, then pressNext

8. Now, Windows XP is successfully installed and ready for use.

Windows XP Driver Installation Procedure


1. Please download the Windows XP driver from the link provided below.
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no
=135&prod_no=1780
2. Install the driver based from the following sequence: Chipset VGA
AUDIO . Others which are not specified after Chipset VGA AUDIO
can be installed in non-sequential manner.

Note:
1. If the system installed is Windows XP SP2 onwards, then by pressing Fn + F6
key will automatically install the Camera driver.
2. When installing LAN driver, RJ45 LAN cable should be plugged-in first into
X320s RJ45 port to execute LAN.
