System 1: Personnel Productive System
Reason : System 1 is used by merchants to place their catalogs online
System 2: Transaction Processing System
Reason : System 2 is used by FedEx customer to browse the catalog and deciding what to buy. When the order is placed it is sent to FedEx web-server. As TPS is generally used to perform routine and repetitive task and perform transaction processing and collecting data thus system 2 is TPS.
System 3: Management Information System
Reason : System 3 analyzes the request of customer and route the request to the appropriate merchant. This characteristics of routine decision making justifies MIS.
System 4: Transaction Processing System
Reason : System 4 provides e-mail confirmation to the merchant when the order is received, again a routine job.
System 5: Transaction Processing System
Reason : This system applies for credit card approval via merchant selected banking system. It just routes the request of credit approval to the banking system selected by merchant.
System 6: Decision Support System
Reason : System 6 involves the mainframe where all complex decisions such as deciding to which EDC the query should be forwarded and activating the warehouse management system is undertaken. Thus making it a DSS.
System 7: Management Information System
Reason : This involves the mainframe where all complex decisions such as deciding to which EDC the query should be forwarded via an Electronic data interchange is undertaken. Thus making it a MIS.
System 8: Transaction Processing System
Reason : Involves region-wise distributed electronic data centres, with the help of which customers, merchants and fedex employees can track the status of the order and its fulfillment, i.e. the routine transfer activities.
