Summary
I am currently an undergraduate student in the College of Education at James Madison University. My major is
Elementary Education with a minor in Educational Media. I plan to graduate in May of 2015 with a Bachelors of
Science Degree and then attend Graduate School at JMU immediately after. In 2016, I plan to graduate with a
Masters in Education. After graduation I would like to get a job teaching in an Elementary school.

Justice Committee as well as meeting in a large group setting. Advised commissioners as to how the young adults in
the Church would vote.

Poverty Alleviation
Repaired homes through cleaning, painting, putting up trim, caulking, sanding, sawing, drilling, nailing, screwing,
digging, setting posts, etc. Built three decks to ensure a safe exit from each house where people were living. This
required digging holes, breaking through rocky foundation, setting posts with cement, leveling the posts, sanding,
decking, creating stringers for steps, making railings and spindles. These jobs also included interacting with the
families that lived in the homes because many of them had suffered loss from flooding or hurricanes.

Homeless Shelter Volunteer


Open Doors Homeless Shelter/Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter (WATTS)
Work with a team to prepare and serve meals to the homeless shelter guests. Responsibilities have also included
washing and drying dishes. Engaging in conversation with the guests to keep them company is a large part of
volunteering at the shelter.
