Lineman’s pliers 3 National foreword ‘This Part of BS 3087, which has been prepared under the direction of the Machine, Engineers and Hand Tools Standards Committee, is identical with ISO 8746-1982 ‘Pliers and nippers — Engineer's and lineman’s pliers ~ Dimensions’, published by the International Organization for Standardization (180). ‘As work continues in 1SO the number of tools covered by this standard will increase. BS 3087 : Part 10 contains those tools in BS 3087 : 1959 that were not standardized by ISO because their style and application were exclusive to the UK, This Part of BS 3087 partially supersedes BS 3087 : 1959, which will be withdrawn on completion of the publication of all ten Parts of this revision. ‘Terminology and conventions.
